There is no reason to be depressed or to psychologically punish ourselves for our faults. Such depression is simply another way of diverting our attention away from God and placing it on ourselves. Spiritual life is a positive redirection of the consciousness towards the Supreme Person, Krishna or God. Depression, which is directed towards ourselves instead of God, is therefore material, not spiritual.
So how does one who has trapped in a depression syndrome escape? The simple solution is to remember that simply by calling the names of the Lord with love one becomes freed from more sins that he is capable of committing in millions of lifetimes. Instead of being concerned with one's own happiness and distress which should think instead of pleasing the Supreme Person by all one's thoughts, words, and deeds in all times, places, and circumstances. As soon we take our attention away from our own happiness and distress by being concerned instead of always being pleasing to the Lord, we will see that our depression has vanished and that we are swimming constantly in an ocean of transcendental bliss.

On the whole the whole human civilization is..., and all the directors, they are not giving chance to know the value of life and how to conduct life. It is the first time, that we are giving the real idea of life. Otherwise whole world is in darkness. Na te viduh svartha-gatim. They do not know what is the end of life. Adanta...Matir na krsne paratah svato va. Srimad-Bhagavatam, Vyasadeva's real contribution... Ajanatah, lokasyajanato vidvams cakre satvata-samhitam [SB 1.7.6]. He has given the right direction. And they are not taking advantage of it. If they come to sense some day, they'll read all these books, and they will come to know how to live life. That is our contribution, Krsna consciousness. The whole world plunged into darkness. They do not know what is life and what is the aim of life. That's a fact. Periodically, they manufacture some ideas, and people will follow, and then it is failure, and again another revolution. They are..., the Russian philosophy, that periodically revolution required. That is also to some extent. But why revolution? Take the standard. They do not know what is the standard.
Hari-sauri: That means they're always imperfect.Prabhupada: Imperfect, surely. Let us do something about it.
If you have taken to Krsna consciousness, try to execute it very seriously, means to follow the rules and regulation and chant Hare Krsna. That's all.
Five things. No illicit sex, no gambling, ni intoxication, no meat-eating... We don't prohibit sex, but illicit sex is most sinful. Most sinful. Unfortunately, they are so rascals, one sex to another, another sex to another, another sex... That is maya's illusion, influence. But if you stick to Krsna... Mam eva ye prapadyante mayam etam taranti te [Bg. 7.14]. If you catch up Krsna's lotus feet very tightly, then you will not fall down. But if you make a show of so-called brahmacari, so-called grhastha, or so-called sannyasi, then you will fall down. We are experiencing that. Then you must fall down. Krsna will not tolerate a defaulter, a pseudo devotee. Maya is very strong.
Immediately capture him: "Come on. Why you are here? Why you are in this society? Get out." That is Yamaraja's duty. In this material world the conditioned soul is very much distracted from his original all-knowing, all-blissful nature as Krishna's eternal servant because he is carried away by the so-called taste of material sense gratification. This artificial taste is encouraged and exploited by the materialistic propaganda mongers who make a handsome profit by misguiding the people in general promoting cigarettes, liquor, prostitution, meat eating, etc. The foolish sense enjoyer tries to become happy by squeezing as much pleasure as possible out of these things, but because there is no factual pleasure in sense gratification, the poor soul is ultimately left in a state of frustration and bewilderment. If, however, he will reconnect with his original transcendental nature diving deep into his eternal identity as the servant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he will taste a pleasure that is unlimitedly sublime and will go on increasing forever.
The pure devotee of the Lord is so advanced in his Krishna consciousness that he is completely undisturbed at the time of death. Because he is completely free from bodily identification, death for him is nothing more than going from one room into another room. In other words, it is not a traumatic, anxiety-ridden experience. It is simply another routine activity in the service of the Lord, that yesterday I was serving the Lord in that place, and now today I am serving the Lord in this place. While for the materialist death means the complete total destruction of all his plans, for the devotee death simply means that he continues with his service with the added benefit of better facilities.
The Bhagwat gives the solutios, that when we listen to the stories from Srimad Bhagwatam - Shoka, Moha & Bhaya are gone. Shoka means lamentation about the past, Moha is illusion about the present and Bhaya meas fear about the future. When we listen to the Srimad Bhagwatam ad stop livig by the Srimad Bhagwatam,, Shoka, Moha, Bhaya- it destroys la lamentation, it destroys illusion and destroys fear which means we are now beyond miseries, otherwise life is a ATM isn't it ? All Time Misery -(ATM), lamentation about the past, illusion about the present and worried & scared about the future. ATM all time misery. So therefore the Srimad Bhagwatam helps us come out of the situation by taking the shelter of the lotus feet of the lord.
