Jagadananda Das - Room in Rishikesh

Jagadananda Das

Jagadananda Das

Room in Rishikesh

Swami Veda Bharati gave me this marble figure of Radha and Krishna. They are carved from a single block, so I don't think they are exactly worshipable as deities. Nevertheless, they are extremely beautiful and a fit object of meditation.

My altar in Rishikesh. My poor, neglected Giridhari never stops smiling.

In Delhi last week, I found three framed illuminations from an original manuscript, at least 150 years old. The manuscript surprisingly has nothing to do with Radha and Krishna. The text here is a commentary on some subhashitas. The themes of the paintings are standard, but very nicely done with a fine hand. The handwriting is also beautifully done.
