Srila Prabhupada's Letters 1966 June 20 : Srila Prabhupada's Letters1968 June 20: "Your simplicity is a great asset for Krishna Consciousness. Krishna is very kind to the meek and simple. Better to remain dull and simple as you are, and thus make advancement in Krishna Consciousness."
Srila Prabhupada's Letters1968 June 20: "This is very good opportunity that your mind, hand, and attention are all absorbed in Krishna samadhi, and tongue chanting Hare Krishna. This is first class samadhi, and the highest position of the greatest yogis." Srila Prabhupada's Letters 1972 June 20 : "We have got enough followers, let us train them up perfectly. Unless all of my students become very much fixed up in their spiritual progress, what is the use of so many programs for expansion?" Srila Prabhupada's Letters 1972 June 20 : "If we are able to make a whole generation of our children into fine Krsna Conscious preachers, that will be the glory of our movement. But if we neglect or if we lose even one Vaisnava - that is very great loss." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1975 June 20: "It is my habit to see that money is not being squandered. We are collecting with great effort, if money is spent unnecessarily, I feel very badly. Now I am very much doubtful. I think there has been some cheating." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1975 June 20: "Yes, I shall arrange to pay. Don't worry. This I have already said. Why are you speaking of a loan when you have already taken two lakhs from the Book Fund? What do you mean that you want another loan?" Srila Prabhupada's Letters1975 June 20: "My mission started by selling my books, and still whatever money we are getting it is coming from selling my books. You simply have to apply your brain to selling my books - then you will have plenty of money." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1968 June 19: "Your sentiments expressed in this letter are transcendentally relished. Certainly you are mine and I am Krishna's, therefore you are also Krishna's. By following the disciplic succession, beginning from Krishna, everything becomes ultimately connected with Krishna." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1970 June 19: "The first and foremost thing is regular printing of our Back to Godhead magazines. Our next printing will be KRSNA, second volume, minimum 5,000 copies, but if we get good response on the first volume, then it may be increased to 10,000 copies." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1970 June 19: "I wish to send some free copies of KRSNA Book to George Harrison for distribution amongst his intimate friends as he likes. Recently I have recorded some songs. If you so desire, I can send them for George." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1970 June 19: "Now my desire is that I completely devote my time in the matter of writing and translating books, and arrangement should now be done that our Society be managed automatically. I think we should have a central governing body for dealing with important matters." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1972 June 19: "Now we have got so many students and so many temples but I am fearful that if we expand too much in this way that we shall become weakened and gradually the whole thing will become lost." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1972 June 19: "Just like milk. We may thin it more and more with water for cheating the customer, but in the end it will cease to be any longer milk. Better to boil the milk now very vigorously and make it thick and sweet, that is the best process." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1972 June 19: "You must encourage the students to read our books as much as possible. Let us concentrate on training our devotees very thoroughly by discussing always and in so many ways instruct them in the right understanding." Srila Prabhupada's Letters1974 June 19: "A difficulty has arisen in that we have not yet received visa permission from the Australian government. Do not go outside of India. I want to discuss on some important subject matter and want to meet you." ISKCON Melbourne, AU: Daily Class - Aniruddha PrabhuSrimad Bhagavatam 11.21.26 - Material existence is a struggle. Go to the spiritual world. Bharatavarsa.net: Bhakti Vikasa Swami: Nothing is newAnd what is new? "There is nothing new in the world." The sun was rising on the eastern side. Still it is rising on the eastern side. The sun was setting on the western side. It is still setting. Your forefathers, grandfather, they were also eating; you are also eating. They also died, and we shall also die. What new thing is there? They died, and you will not die? What new we can give? Nothing. You have to follow by nature's law the old principles. They died; I will have to die. They ate; I am eating. They beget children; I am also begetting. So what is the difference? What is the new? Everything is going on in the old principles. It is simply our imagination that we are doing something new. There is nothing new. Ahara-nidra-bhaya-maithunam ca samanyam etat pasubhir naranam. We are under such stringent laws of the nature, there is no scope for inventing something new. That is not possible. We have to follow the old principles by force, by nature's law. 690114BG.LA H.H. Sivarama SwamiA Vaisnava is so liberal that he is prepared to risk everything to rescue the conditioned souls from material existence. - Srila Prabhupada ISKCON Toronto, Canada: Toronto Sankirtan Team's First Anniversary!Sankirtan is a Sanskrit term which means the congregational chanting and sharing of the names and glories of Krishna, which is the recommended process for spiritual success. In the Hare Krishna tradition, sankirtan is associated with sharing our spiritual culture with the public via the timeless books, translated by Srila Prabhupada.
H.H. Satsvarupa das Goswami: 4723:56 A.M.read more from SDGonline - daily updates from The Yellow Submarine: My Bhajana Kutir journal H.H. Satsvarupa das Goswami: With His Godbrothers: GroundbreakingPrabhupada SmaranamPrabhupada and some of his peers are seated at the edge of the steep pit in which the Sesa murti will be planted. This is the first step in the installation and construction of a temple in India. The procedure is that the foundation of the temple will rest on the head of Sesa Ananta, who is strong enough to hold the planets on His heads and who protects the form of Vishnu hovering over His head. Prabhupada is in a very jolly mood on this occasion. His spiritual master gave him the order, “If you ever get money, print books.” And Prabhupada did not get involved in trying to get possession of Gaudiya Math temples or centers after the disappearance of his spiritual master and the splitting of the Gaudiya Math into schisms. Prabhupada was not interested in constructing temples but applied his energy to writing, first Back to Godhead magazines and then the Herculean task of writing and printing and distributing Srimad-Bhagavatam. That was his primary task as given to him by his Guru Maharaja. He then went to America and recruited disciples and opened storefront temples and centers. He sometimes said that the preaching in the West was the carrying out of his guru’s order, and his return to India and constructing big temples was his own idea. It was an addition to the order to write books. Constructing temples in India, however, became a major project for Srila Prabhupada. He devised a system where fifty percent of the profits from selling books went back into printing more books and fifty percent of the profits went to temple construction in India. Thus he began his tremendous endeavors of building major mandiras in Vrndavana, Mayapur and Bombay. He said that if he advertised that Swami Bhaktivedanta was lecturing under a tree, no one would come, but people would flock to see magnificent architectural cathedrals and Deity worship. It was to attract the common men and women that he constructed the temples, and also to give his worldwide students places of inspiration to worship in the holy dhamas of India. Thus with his own institution he completed the order of Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura and printed books and constructed beautiful mandiras in India and elsewhere in the world. H.H. –ATD H.H. Satsvarupa das Goswami: Patel’s Corner ShopFree writePatel’s Corner Shop contains sundry items, rare Indian spices and Ayurvedic medicines. It’s located in an Indian city or a Hindu neighborhood in the UK, I don’t know which. Mr. Patel is a life member of ISKCON, and his son is a serious devotee who is about to get married to another serious devotee. Mr. Patel is worried that his son may become a fulltime “Hare Krishna” and not take over the responsibilities for the store. But the son will have to get some job. He is thinking of going back to college to get a degree in computer science and get a better job than running his father’s store. Mr. Patel has two other sons who are not such serious devotees and a not so serious daughter and he is counting on them to run the store. Mr. Patel’s serious son and to-be daughter-in-law want to get initiated, and they are already aspiring to approach a spiritual master with whom they have a relationship. They are both chanting sixteen rounds, and they are keeping their relationship chaste by following the four rules, including no illicit sex. Mr. Patel doesn’t mind losing one son to Hare Krishna as long as the others stay to run the store, and as long as his serious son gets a decent job. There is a danger that by associating with his serious son, the other offspring may get serious too and give up their responsibilities to Patel’s Corner Shop. This keeps Mr. Patel awake at night sometimes. He tries to keep the serious son from influencing the non-serious ones. He is a fairly pious Hindu but is definitely on the karma-kandiya path and is more devoted to Patel’s Corner Shop than to Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Time will tell what happens to the family and to the shop. The people involved all have their minute free will, and maya and Krishna are open to them. H.H. Sivarama Swami: Class in New Vrndavana (Part 1)Why is the maha-mantra a “maha” mantra. Japa Group: The Simple “Just Hear” FormulaI’ve chanted over twelve rounds so far. My mind is not sharply focused on the yugala-mantra or on the simple “just hear” formula. But I am accumulating rounds at a decent pace and hope I won’t forget to say my full sixteen as I might have done yesterday. The chief agent smiled to see me walking with a limp this morning.
