MANIFESTATION OF SRILA GURUDEV’S PROJECT IN HOUSTON
SRI GOVINDAJI GAUDIYA MATHA
Dear Prabhus, Didis, Worldwide Congregational Members, and Friends:
All glories to Srila Gurudeva, Srila Prabhupada, Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga, and Sri Sri Radha Vinode Bihariji. Dandavat pranams.
Today, as we are in the most auspicious month of Kartika, the month of unlimited blessings and Srimati Radharani's overflowing mercy, as well as Damodarastikam, we wish to share with you our progress in bringing to you Srila Gurudeva's grand desire to construct the Sri Govindaji Gaudiya Matha (Vedic Education and Cultural Center).
This has become His Divine Grace's unwavering desire as he expressed at the 2009 Houston Festival that he wanted the Temple as soon as possible.
To fulfill the desire of the spiritual master is the utmost desire of the disciple, or for the one who wishes to progress in bhakti. All the siddhanta and all the scriptures agree on this point, and also shastra tells of the enormous spiritual benefit that each and every soul that assists in a holy event such as this.
To date, the Houston project governed by a dedicated Board have achieved significant milestones. We completed phase I in May 2009 where we purchased a 2.5 ac land and had an opening ceremony and Bhumi Puja that was conducted by His Divine Grace Srila Gurudeva. Note that the entire phase I was funded largely by the Houston Board members indicating our dedication and ability to deliver tangible results.
We’re now in the midst of phase II. Per Srila Gurudev’s instruction we’re building a close replica of our temple in Govardhan, India. Moreover, the current plan is that this temple will sit or be surrounded in a pool of water reflecting the beauty of its architecture. We’re now close to completing the architectural and construction drawings; and our pushing ahead with fund raising.
The Sri Govindaji Gaudiya Matha Temple (Vedic Education and Cultural Center) will also have residential ashrams as it is Srila Gurudeva's desire that devotees from around the world utilize this as a base for their preaching efforts in the western hemisphere. The deities will be of their Lordships; Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, Sri Sri Radha-Krsna, and Sri Sri Sita-Rama-Lakshmana-Hanumanji. Also, in addition to the Cultural Center a Gurukula, an Ayurvedic Health and Wellness Center and Dispensary, Vedic Library, Bookstore, Museum, and Indian Restaurant with Bakery.
We humbly and wholeheartedly appeal to devotees to give generously and expeditiously to this project in bringing about its manifestation, for Srila Gurudeva's pleasure, which will bring no end of happiness to our Guru-varga.
With this unwavering faith, and unshakable belief, in the inevitability of Srila Gurudeva's desire to manifest, please, therefore, make a contribution now. No amount is too small. And, for the pleasure of Gurudeva, no amount is too big either.
As Krsna stated on the Battlefield of Kurukshetra to Arjuna that the battle was already won, and all we have to do is align ourselves with Srila Gurudeva's and Krsna's desire to be a part of this historic time for our Sanga in American Vaisnava History.
All donations will be shown to Srila Gurudeva personally for His individual blessing to all who helped make this desire of Srila Gurudeva's and our Guru-varga possible.
