na—no; me—mía; brahma-kulät—que los grupos de brähmaëas; präëäù—vida; kula-daivät—que las personalidades adoradas por mi familia; na—no; ca—tambien; ätmajäù—los hijos e hijas; na—ni; çriyaù—la opulencia; na—ni; mahé—la tierra; räjyam—el reino; na—ni; däräù—la esposa; ca—tambien; ati-vallabhäù—muy querido.


TRADUCCIÓN



Mahäräja Khaöväìga pensó: Ni mi propia vida me es más querida que la cultura brahmínica y los brähmaëas, a quienes mi familia adora. ¿Que puedo decir entonces de mi reino, mis tierras, mi esposa, mis hijos y mi opulencia? Nada hay que me sea tan querido como los brähmaëas.

na bälye 'pi matir mahyam

adharme ramate kvacit

näpaçyam uttamaçlokäd

anyat kiïcana vastv aham


na—no; bälye—en la infancia; api—en verdad; matiù—atracción; mahyam—de mí; adharme—por los principios irreligiosos; ramate—disfruta; kvacit—en ningún momento; na—ni; apaçyam—he visto; uttamaçlokät—que la Personalidad de Dios; anyat—nada más; kiïcana—nada; vastu—trascendencia; aham—yo.


TRADUCCIÓN



Ni siquiera en la infancia me sentí atraído por las cosas insignificantes o los principios irreligiosos. Nunca encontre nada más trascendente que la Suprema Personalidad de Dios.

devaiù käma-varo datto

mahyaà tri-bhuvaneçvaraiù

na våëe tam ahaà kämaà

bhütabhävana-bhävanaù


devaiù—por los semidioses; käma-varaù—la bendición de tener todo lo que quisiese; dattaù—fue dada; mahyam—a mí; tri-bhuvana-éçvaraiù—por los semidioses, los protectores de los tres mundos (que pueden hacer todo lo que deseen en el mundo material); na våëe—no acepte; tam—eso; aham—yo; kämam—todo lo que pueda desearse en el mundo material; bhütabhävana-bhävanaù—estar completamente absorto en la Suprema Personalidad de Dios (y no tener, por lo tanto, ningún interes material).


TRADUCCIÓN



Los semidioses, quienes dirigen los tres mundos, estaban dispuestos a darme cualquier bendición que pudiera desear, pero yo no he querido sus bendiciones, pues quien me interesa es la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, el creador de todo cuanto existe en el mundo material. La Suprema Personalidad de Dios me atrae más que todas las bendiciones materiales.

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna,
Who decorates himself with flowers of Athasee.
Who shines in garlands and anklets that he wears.
And who has a bangle made of jewels in his right hand.

Kutilalaka samyuktham,
Poorna chandra nibhananam,
Vilasath kundala dharam,
Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. 3

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna,
Who is blessed with black curly hair,
Who is very similar to the full moon,
And who shines in his ear drops.

Mandhara gandha samyuktham,
Charuhasam chathurbhujam,
Barhi pinjava choodangam,
Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. 4

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna.
Who has the sweet scent of mandara flowers,
Who has pretty smile and four arms,
And who decorates is hair with peacock feathers.

Uthfulla padma pathraksham,
Neela jeemutha sannibham,
Yadavaanaam siro rathnam,
Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. 5

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna,
Who has eyes resembling the fully open lotus flowers,
Who has the blue colour of rich clouds,
And who is the chief gem of the clan of Yadavas.

Rukmani keli samyuktham,
Peethambara shobitham,
Avaptha thulasi gandham,
Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. 6

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna,
Who is engaged in playing with Rukmani,
Who shines in yellow silks,
And who is attracted by scent of ocimum.

Gopikaanaam kucha dwandwam,
Kunkumankitha vakshasam,
Sriniketham maheshwasam,
Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. 7

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna.
Who is embraced by the two busts of Gopis,
Whose chest has the marks of saffron,
Who lives with Lakshmi and has a big bow.

Sree vathsam mahoraskam,
Vanamala virajitham,
Sanka chakra dharam devam,
Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum. 8

Salutations to the teacher of the world, Krishna,
Who has the mole Sri Vathsa on his chest and greatly enjoys,
Who is decorated by garlands of forest flowers,
And who holds the conch and the holy wheel.

Krishnashtakamidham punyam,
Prathar uthaya ya padeth,
Koti Janma krutham papam,
Smaranath thasya nasyathi.

If one reads this as soon as he awakes in the morning,
This divine octet of Lord Krishna without fail,
Sins committed in billions of lives,
Would be destroyed, if one thinks about him.
