Satsvarupa das Goswami: '402' from The Yellow Submarine4:20 A.MI was able to get up at 2:30 and chant my rounds, mechanically. There are many good things you can say generically about the chanting of the holy name. It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss. It wipes away the dirty mirror of the self by which we cannot see our clear soul. It is an extremely accessible practice, as easy as can be. It has all the potencies of Krishna Himself and just by chanting Hare Krishna you can disentangle yourself from maya. It is the only method for God realization in this age of Kali. These are all the good things and there are many more about chanting, and no doubt I benefit from bits of them. But from my side the chanting of Hare Krishna is like “the girl next door” whom I adore but whom affection for me doesn’t show. I do adore her but she does ignore me, the girl next door. When can I attract her? We are told I don’t have to have great power of sastric knowledge or be a pure Vaisnava in all areas. All I have to do is chant sincerely and I will attract the name next door, so close and yet so far.
How can I ignore • Email to a friend • Related • • HH. Satsvarupa das Goswami: 'At Juhu Beach' from The Yellow SubmarineAnother merry walk on Juhu Beach. Although Dr Patel is speaking opposition to Prabhupada’s pure conclusions, his disciples are laughing because Dr Patel is being trounced. He is mere child’s play for Prabhupada. We don’t like his walking with us but because Prabhupada is so nonplussed we can’t help but find it enjoyable as when your baseball team smashes the other team. He thinks the Absolute is impersonal and all of India’s popular sadhus are right in their opinions. Prabhupada controls the talk and crushes him in such a way that Dr Patel is simultaneously frustrated, angry and honored to be paid attention by the greatest guru in the world. • Email to a friend • Related • • Bharatavarsa.net: Bhakti Vikasa Swami: Srila Prabhupada in the lower planetsJayantakrid das: I remember also asking Nitai, who was Prabhupada’s secretary at that time, “Did Prabhupada mention where he would go next life for preaching?” Nitai told me, “Prabhupada said he would go on the lower planets to preach in the next birth.” That was the most far-out thing. He said very clearly, “Prabhupada said he would go in the lower planets to preach the message of Krishna.” Does anyone else remember Srila Prabhupada saying this? • Email to a friend • Related • • Namahatta.org: WSN January 2010 - World Sankirtan Newsletter
By Vijaya das Hare Krsna Prabhus, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Many devotees are now returning from India after their pilgrimage to the holy dhama. Srila Prabhupada wanted the sankirtan devotees to go to India to get inspiration and then go back to their countries with greater strength to spread the sankirtan movement of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. We had nice sankirtan meetings in Mayapur, with devotees from Russia (Ambarish Prabhu), Italy (Anakadundubhi Prabhu) , Finland (Tatvavad Prabhu), England (Vishvambhara Prabhu), and the USA (Paramesvara and myself) giving inspiring talks about book distribution. Radhanatha Swami, Devamrta Swami, and Gopal Krsna Maharaja also blessed us with their realizations during the sankirtan seminars. • Email to a friend • Related • • H.H. Once someone asked about the meaning of the holy names and Srila Prabhupada said its like a prayer to Krsna saying "Oh Lord please engage me in your devotional service". This is so powerful and if we think of the meaning of these words we may understand that means surrender, means we are thinking of the Lord and not in our own sense gratification, our own material desires and personal needs - we are thinking of how we could improve our service in order to satisfy the Lord, also we are accepting more and more service to His lotus feet. We sometimes maybe offer to Krsna many prayers but we need to mean them, to really make them with our hearts and engage our senses on that too. Here is a prayer asking for service from the Sri Sanatkumar Samhita: Sri Sanatkumar Samhita 5 "O Sri Sri Radha-Krishna, you are like two great oceans of mercy. Please be merciful to me. I take shelter of you. I surrender to you. Please engage me, a sinner and offender, in your service." Chanting is a great service, when we chant we invite Krsna and Radha to our hearts and offer Them our service, our senses, our time, our voice and our love so They can take care of our whole life and engage us like They want to. This means we are surrended and we have complete faith the Lord will be there for us, to protect us any time in any situation we are in and we accept anything They give us. When we achieve this stage of complete faith we may understand our position as eternal servants and advance to pure chanting as our goal of life. I pray so I can be blessed by the vaisnavas to be able to achieve this level and through strong faith I maybe serve the Lord much better than I do now. your servant, Aruna devi • Email to a friend • Related • • Srila Prabhupada's Letters1970 April 10: "As soon as a center is opened it gives me Vaikuntha bliss. You will walk away with some solid techniques for learning and improving your performance or presentations, making your points by strengthening the voice and pronunciation, engaging the imagination of the audience, and understanding the power of the age old art of storytelling. We’ll also discuss promoting yourself and your work. Five hours of personal and professional growth. BIO: In college Sankirtana majored in Theater and Film. Since 1975 he engaged in writing, acting and directing scriptural dramas, taking productions to Off-B’way, colleges, temples and special events. In the past 15 years he has focused exclusively on offering dramatic storytelling programs and workshops to schools, colleges, churches, libraries, museums and conferences, including the 2006 National Storytelling Conference and 2000 Religious Communications Conference. He is also the recipient of a West Virginia Artist Fellowship Award.
“Over the years, Sankirtana Das has coached me on a variety of pieces, that led to my landing parts and also getting into college, where I studied acting. More importantly, he was the first to introduce me to the concept of technique and stress its importance, in turn helping to shape my approach to all my work.” Halavah Sofsky, Actor/Filmmaker, NYC “Sankirtana is a gold mine for anyone digging in the storytelling field. In addition, he is well equipped to provide the necessary tools for any prospector of tales. He has been my storytelling coach over the past ten years and has helped me tremendously. I have attended his workshops and have received private instruction as well. He offers a mix of humor, honest constructive criticism and knowledge of the art of storytelling. I enthusiastically recommend his services for anyone interested in developing their storytelling and writing skills.” Kripamaya Das, Musician/Storyteller, West Virginia “Although I've been writing and periodically telling stories for years, Sankirtana’s expert guidance has taken my creative abilities to a whole other level. His mentorship has been invaluable. Over two decades of performing, writing, and teaching have given Andy the insight a master has of his subject, inside out and outside in. He recently helped this attached writer to learn to edit her work from an initially wordy and heavy script into an effective and fast moving tale that sacrificed none of the emotional content. What a difference this process has made in my ability to communicate in a compact and effective manner. THANK-YOU SANKIRTANA SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!” Harinam DD, Storyteller/Writer, Flordia • Email to a friend • Related • • Sita-pati dasa, AU: Kirtan Concert Live Stream: Janardana, Mallika, Madhava

I received, with pleasure, the news that Navina Nirada Prabhu - accompanied by Hanuman Prabhu - will hold a book distribution seminar in Lima, Peru on April 16-18. The flyer, in Spanish, specifies that the expected audience is the Bhakti-vriksha groups, other congregational members and the regular book distributors (sankirtaneros). This news made me think of how, in the past, such book distribution seminars tended to focus on the full-time book distributors. The realization appears to have now dawned that the largest book distribution force for ISKCON is constituted by home-based devotees. Just this morning I was doing some editing of the yearly Srila Prabhupada Vyasa-puja offering from the ISKCON Congregational Development Ministry, in which the writer - Mahaprabhu Caitanya Prabhu - quotes the purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Madhya-lila, 7.128, where Srila Prabhupada concludes his commentary saying that "one should stay at home, chant the Hare Krishna mantra and preach the instructions of Krishna as they are given in the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam." We, as a movement, are gradually getting to the point of grasping the import of such crucial instruction, and the seminar in Lima is a welcome addition in this cultural process of realignment with Srila Prabhupada's vision. • Email to a friend • Related • • Gouranga TV: Trivikrama Swami 2006 POLAND• Email to a friend • Related • • Gaura Sakti das & Adi Radhika dd, New Vraja Dham, Hungary: The easter rabbits appeared :)

First we investigated what are in their laps, then we touched the rabbits carefully, may they be real??
