The Lord’s three transcendental potencies are: 1. Hladini (bliss), 2. Sandhini (eternity), and 3. Samvit (knowledge). Commentary by Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura In the Shvetashvatara Upanishad (6.8) it is said: na tasya karyam karanam ca vidyate na tat-samash cabhyadhikash ca drishyate parasya shaktir vividhaiva shruyate svabhaviki jnana-bala-kriya ca “He does not possess bodily form like that of an ordinary living entity. There is no difference between His body and His soul. He is absolute. All His senses are transcendental. Any one of His senses can perform the action of any other sense. Therefore, no one is greater than Him or equal to Him. His potencies are multifarious, and thus His deeds are automatically performed as a natural sequence.”* In the Vishnu Purana (1.12.69) it is said: hladini sandhini samvit tvayy eka sarva-samsthitau hlada-tapa-kari mishra tvayi no guna-varjite “O Lord, You are the support of everything. The three attributes hladini, sandhini, and samvit exist in You as one spiritual energy. But the material modes, which cause happiness, misery, and mixtures of the two, do not exist in You, for You have no material qualities.”* In Shri Chaitanya-caritamrita (Madhya 6.158-159) it is said: sac-cid-ananda-maya ishvara-svarupa tina amshe cic-chakti haya tina rupa “The Supreme Personality of Godhead in His original form is full of eternity, knowledge, and bliss. The spiritual potency in these three portions (sat, cit, and ananda) assumes three different forms.* anandamshe hladini sad-amshe sandhini cid-amshe samvit yare krishna-jnana mani “The three portions of the spiritual potency are called hladini (the bliss portion), sandhini (the eternity portion), and samvit (the knowledge portion). We accept knowledge of these as full knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.”* Sutra 11 saiva svato ‘ntaranga-bahiranga-tatastha sa—that; eva—indeed; svatah—personally; antaranga—internal; bahiranga—external; tatastha—marginal. Those potencies become: 1. Antaranga (internal potency), Bahiranga (external potency), and Tatastha (marginal potency). Commentary by Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura In the Shvetashvatara Upanishad (1.3) it is said: te dhyana-yoganugata apashyan devatma-shaktim sva-gunair nigudham “Rapt in meditation, the sages then saw the mysterious potency and transcendental qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the first cause, who alone dominates the secondary causes, from time to the individual living entity.” In the Shvetashvatara Upanishad (4.5) it is said: ajam ekam lohita-krishna-shuklam “A unborn man enjoys an unborn red, white, and black woman who bears many children like herself. Another unborn man first enjoys and then forsakes her.” (Note: The unborn woman is the material nature. The colors red, white, and black are the modes of passion, goodness, and ignorance. The many children are the ingredients of the material universes. The first unborn man is the conditioned soul. the second unborn man is the soul who, after trying to enjoy matter, finally renounces the world and attains liberation.) In the Shvetashvatara Upanishad (4.7) it is said: samane vrikshe purusho nimagno anishaya shocati muhyamanah “Although the two birds are on the same tree, the eating bird is fully engrossed with anxiety and moroseness as the enjoyer of the fruits of the tree. But if in some way or other he turns his face to his friend who is the Lord and knows His glories, at once the suffering bird becomes free from all anxieties.”* (Note: The eating bird is the individual spirit soul, his friend, the other bird, is the Supersoul, and the tree is the material body.) In the Vishnu Purana it is said: vishnu-shaktih para prokta kshetrajnakhya tathapara avidya karma-samjnanya tritiya shaktir ishyate “The potency of Lord Vishnu is summarized in three categories, namely the spiritual potency, the living entities, and ignorance. The spiritual potency is full of knowledge, the living entities, although belonging to the spiritual potency, are subject to bewilderment, and the third energy, which is full of ignorance, is always visible in fruitive activities.”* Shrila Jiva Gosvami explains: shaktish ca sa tridha antaranga tatastha bahiranga ca. “The Supreme Personality of Godhead has three potencies: 1. Antaranga (internal potency), Bahiranga (external potency), and Tatastha (marginal potency). Shrila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami explains: cic-chakti jiva-shakti ara maya-shakti “The Lord has three potencies: 1. the spiritual potency, 2. the living entities, and 3. the world of matter.” Sutra 12 tad-ikshanac chaktir eva kriyavati tat—of Him; ikshanat—by the glance; shaktih—potency; eva—indeed; kriyavati—active. The Lord’s glance pushes His potency into action. Commentary by Shrila Bhaktivinoda Thakura In the Prashna Upanishad (6.3) it is said: sa iksham cakre “He glanced over the material creation.”* In the Aitareya Upanishad (1.1.1-2) it is said: sa aikshata lokan nu shrija iti. sa iman lokan ashrijata. “He glanced over the material creation. Thus He created the entire material world.”* In the Vamana Purana it is said: tatra tatra sthito vishnus tat-tac-chaktih prabodhayan eka eva maha-shaktih kurute sarvam anjasa “Wherever Lord Vishnu goes, His potencies follow. The master of great potencies, He does everything very easily.” In the Bhagavad-gita (9.10), Lord Krishna explains: mayadhyakshena prakritih suyate sa-caracaram hetunanena kaunteya jagad viparivartate “This material nature, which is one of My energies, is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, producing all moving and nonmoving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.”* Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu explains: shakti pradhana krishna icchaya sarvam karta “Lord Krishna wishes, and His potency does everything.” Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu again explains (Shri Chaitanya-caritamrita, Madhya 20.259): maya-dvare shrije tenho brahmandera gana jada-rupa prakriti nahe brahmanda-karana Fuentes - FontsSOUV2P.TTF - 57 KB SOUV2I.TTF - 59 KB SOUV2B.TTF - 56 KB bai_____.ttf - 46 KBbabi____.ttf - 47 KB bab_____.ttf - 45 KB SOUV2T.TTF - 56 KB inbenr11.ttf - 64 KB inbeno11.ttf - 12 KB inbeni11.ttf - 12 KB inbenb11.ttf - 66 KB balaram_.ttf - 45 KB indevr20.ttf - 53 KB Página PRINCIPAL OBRAS y AUTORES CLÁSICOS Agradecimientos Cuadro General Disculpen las Molestias
