The indirect knowledge of the divine that is obtained from sacred scripture, when realized through experience, leads to the certainty of direct knowledge and thereby to enlightenment. This entire process is summed up in the term anubhâva. Anubhâva: (sáns. hindú) - One of the five essential ingredients of rasa. The actions which display or reveal the spiritual emotions situated within the heart are called anubhâvas. The anubhâvas are thirteen in number: 1) nètya (dancing), 2) vilunùhita (rolling on the ground), 3) gîta (singing), 4) kroäana (loud crying), 5) tanu-moùana (writhing of the body), 6) huìkara (roaring), 7) jèmbhaëa (yawning), 8) ävâsa-bhûâ (breathing heavily), 9) loka-anapekëitâ (giving up concern for public image), 10) lâlâsrâva (salivating), 11) aùùa-hâsa (loud laughter), 12) ghûrëâ (staggering about), and 13) hikkâ (a fit of hiccups). Anubhâva: (sáns. hindú) Percepción directa, experiencia, cognición. La experiencia que se alcanza al final de una acción, de una percepción, sentimiento o pensamiento es anubhâva.
