नवीनतम शोध के अनुसार, छंदोबद्ध कविता का नियमित अध्ययन मस्तिष्क की स्मृति संबंधी कोशिकाओं को सशक्त करता है.. और ऐसा करने से वृद्धावस्था तक स्मृति-शक्ति तीव्र बनी रहती है ..इसीलिये भारतीय संस्कृति में रामायण,गीता आदि के नियमित पारायण की व्यवस्था की गई है..यह पारायण,अर्थ-ज...्ञान के साथ करने का विधान है ..सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम रसूलल्लाह ने भी फरमाया है कि चाहे एक ही आयत पढ़ने में रातभर का वक्त लग जाय पर मतलब समझते हुए कुरआन शरीफ की तिलावत करनी चाहिए .. किन्तु हिन्दी कविता की जो दुर्दशा इस समय हो रही वह अत्यन्त कारुणिक है । छंद - मुक्त कविता का प्रारंभ श्री सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी निराला ने किया था तो उनकी लेखनी में ऐसी शक्ति थी कि वह छंद - मुक्त होते हुए भी कविता में रस-पूर्ण सौन्दर्य और गेयता बनाए रखती थी । परन्तु आज हिदी कविता को उस स्तर पर ला दिया गया है कि इस समय रामधारी सिंह दिनकर , महादेवी वर्मा , सुमित्रानंदन पन्त, हरिवंश राय बच्चन जैसे कवि अनुपलब्ध हो चुके हैं । उर्वशी की सौन्दर्य-धारा और कुरुक्षेत्र के प्रचंड-पौरुष से परिपूर्ण कविता की गंगा प्रवाहित करने वाले दिनकर आज स्मृति-शेष हैं ।इस स्थिति में मेरा प्रयास है की हिन्दी कविता-प्रेमी उस स्वर्ण-युग की स्मृतियों से आनंदित हों जब हिदी कविता, विश्व की समस्त भाषाओं और साहित्य की गंगोत्री - संस्कृत-कविता से अनुप्राणित और अनुसिंचित होती, अपने स्वर्ण-शिखर पर विराजमान होकर रस - धारा प्रवाहित कर रही थी अब तक साहित्यकार , साहित्य के स्वरुप की व्याख्या करते आये हैं मगर समस्या यह है कि साहित्य के वर्त्तमान स्वरुप को बदला कैसे जाय .. पश्चिम के अपरिपक्व सामाजिक और साहित्यिक दर्शन का अपरिपक्व रूप से नक़ल करने वालों ने हिन्दी-साहित्य को एक निरुद्देश्य शाब्दिक धंधा बना कर रख दिया .. अब आगे की ओर सकारात्मक-गति आवश्यक है क्योंकि कविता ही आज के युग की सर्वाधिक शक्तिमती मुक्ति-दात्री है कविर्मनीषी परिभूः स्वयम्भूः वेदों में परमात्मा को प्रथम कवि बताया गया और उसे स्वयमेव उत्पन और सर्वतः उत्पन्न कहा गया .. यह परिभाषा आज भी साहित्यकारों , विशेषतः कवियों के लिए अक्षरशः सटीक है .. कवि भी प्रारंभ से अब तक , स्वयमेव उत्पन और सर्वतः उत्पन्न होता रहा है .. अर्थात् कवि , परमात्मा के सर्वाधिक समकक्ष कहा जा सकता है .. क्योकि वह आतंरिक और बाह्य जगत में घटित परिघटनाओं से उत्पन्न अनुप्रेरणाओं को शब्दों में रूपांतरित कर प्रवाहित करता है
