Shri Krishna's Shringar lila

Shri Krishna's Shringar lila : !! श्री श्रृंगार लीला !!, de Mukesh K Agrawal

Once, during Rasa lila, When Shri Radhika saw Shri Krishna dance with other gopies as well as with Her, She left the Rasa. Wishing to hide Herself, She sat down in a solitary place in forest. When Shri Krishna didn’t find Shri Radhika in Rasa then he also Suddenly disappreaed from the arena of the Rasa dance to find Shri Radhika. And When gopies feel the absence of Supreme Lord Krishna then their minds fully absorbed in thoughts of Him, began looking for Him in the various forests. From all the moving and non- loving creatures they asked for news of Krishna's whereabouts.

Shri Krishna finds Shri Radharani at Solitary Place.

Here, When Shri Krishna found Shri Radhika at that solitary place then he take Radharani to deep in forest under a Vata tree ( Currenlty known as Shringarvata) in the forest and to pleased Shri Radhika, Shri Krishna began to decorate(Shringar) Shri Radhika with beli, cameli and other flowers that He had personally picked and tying locks of her hair.

Shri Krishna decorating and tying the locks of Shri Radhikha's hair. You can have a glimpse of Suka and Sari Parrot on tree. How blessed they are to see such beautiful passtime of Priya Priyatam.

After a while Shri Krishna and Shri Radharani left that place and started roaming in the deep of the forest.

There later, while wandering to seach their beloved Krishna in a corner of the forest, all the gopies found the imprints of the marks on the soles of Shri Krishna’s feet - namely the flag, the lotus flower, the trident, the thunderbolt, etc.

After seeing those footprints, they exclaimed, “Oh, here is the impression of the marks on the soles of Krishna’s feet. All the marks, such as the flag, the lotus flower, the trident and the thunderbolt, are distinctly visible here.”

They began to follow the footprints, and shortly they saw another set of footprints beside them, and immediately they became very sorry.

The gopies began to speak among themselves: “O Sakhi, just see! Whose are these other footprints? They are beside the footprints of the son of Maharaja Nanda. It is certainly Krishna passing through, resting His hand on her beloved Radhika, exactly as an elephant goes side by side with his beloved mate. We must, therefore, understand that Radhika served Krishna with greater affectionate love than ourselves. Because of this, although He has left us, He could not leave Her company. He has taken Her along with Him.”

At the corner of forest all the gopies find the footprint of Lord Krishna.

“O Sakhi, just imagine how the dust of this place is transcendentally glorious. The dust of the lotus feet of Krishna is worshiped even by Lord Brahmä and Lord Siva and the goddess of fortune, Laksmi. But at the same time, we are very sorry that this particular gopi has gone along with Krishna, for She is sharing the nectar of Krishna’s kisses and leaving us aside to lament.”

All the gopies then went further into the forest, searching out Krishna and stopped by at particluar spot.

“O Sakhis, just see! At this particular spot we do not see the footprints of Shri Radhika. It appears that because there were some pinpricks from the dried grass, Krishna took Radharani on His shoulder. Oh, She is so dear to Him! Krishna must have picked some flowers in this spot to satisfy Radharani, because here, where He stood erect to get the flowers from the high branches of the tree, we find only half the impression of His feet. Dear friends, just see how Krishna must have sat down here with Radharani and tried to set flowers in Her hair. You can be certain that both of Them sat together here.”

All the gopies pointed out the faults of the Shri Radhika who had been taken alone by Krishna. They said that the chief gopi, Radhika, who had been taken alone by Krishna, must be very proud of Her position, thinking Herself the greatest of the gopies. “Yet how could Krishna take Her away alone, leaving all of us aside, unless She is extraordinarily qualified and beautiful? She must have taken Krishna into the deep forest.

Nearby, Where Krishna wandering with Shri Radhika He heard the loud voices of the gopies there. Krishna requested Shri Radha to quickly leave this place with Him, but She refused on the excuse of being tired. Syamasundar then crouched down and requested Her to sit on His shoulder, but just as She was about to do so, He disappeared.

Distressed in separation, Shri Radhika fainted, crying out n exclaimed : “O Krishna, My lover, O dearest, You are so fine and so powerful. Where have You gone? Where are You? Please, O mighty-armed one, O friend, show Yourself to this wretched maidservant of Yours.”

Shri Radhika and gopies distressed in separation.

All the gopies then went further into the forest, searching out Krishna, but when they learned that actually Radharani was left alone by Krishna, they became very sorry. This is the test of Krishna consciousness.

In the beginning they were a little envious that Krishna had taken Radharani alone, leaving aside all the other gopies, but as soon as they knew that Krishna had also left Radharani and that She was alone lamenting for Him, they became more sympathetic to Her.

The gopies found Radharani and heard everything from Her about how She misbehaved with Krishna and how She was proud and was insulted for Her pride. After hearing all this, they became actually very sympathetic.

Then all the gopies, including Radharani, proceeded further into the forest, until they could no longer see the moonlight. When they saw that it was getting gradually darker, they stopped. Their mind and intelligence became absorbed in thoughts of Krishna; they all imitated the activities of Krishna and His speeches. Due to their heart and soul being completely given to Krishna, they began to chant His glories, completely forgetting their family interests.

In this way, all the gopies returned to the bank of the Yamuna and assembled there, and expecting that Krishna must return to them, they simply engaged in chanting the glories of Shri Krishna in utter helplessness.

All the gopies chanting the glories of Shri Krishna at the bank of Shri Yamuna.

“O Krishna, Syamsundara, Mohan, You are known as Hari. You destroy all the miseries of all living entities, specifically of those who have left their homes and family attachment and have completely taken to You. We have left our homes with the hope that we shall completely devote and dedicate our lives to Your service. We are simply begging to be engaged as Your servants. We do not wish to ask You to accept us as Your wives. Simply accept us as Your maidservants.”

“Since You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead and like to enjoy the “Parakiya-Rasa” and are famous as a transcendental woman hunter, we have come to satisfy Your transcendental desires. We are also after our own satisfaction, for simply by looking at Your smiling face we have become very lusty. We have come before You decorated with all ornaments and dress, but until You embrace us, all our clothes and beautiful features remain incomplete. You are the Supreme Person, and if You complete our dressing attempt as the purusa-bhushan, or the male ornament, then all our desires and bodily decorations are complete.”

“Dear Krishna, we have simply been captivated by seeing You with tilaka and with earrings and by seeing Your beautiful face covered with scattered hair and bearing Your extraordinary smile. Your beauty is so sublime that not only men and women but also cows, birds, beasts and even trees, fruits and flowers - everyone and everything—become enchanted, and what to speak of ourselves? It is, however, definitely decided that as Lord Visnu is always protecting the demigods from the onslaught of demons, so You have also advented in Vrindavana just to give the residents protection from all kinds of distress.”

Having sung and spoken their hearts out in various charming ways, the gopies and Shri Radhika began to weep loudly. They were very eager to see Lord Krishna.

Then Lord Krishna, a smile on His lotus face, appeared before the gopies. Wearing a garland and a yellow garment, He directly appeared as one who can bewilder the mind of Cupid, who himself bewilders the minds of ordinary people.

Merciful Shri Krishna finally arrived to his beloved Shri Radhika and gopies.

When Shri Radhika and gopies saw that their dearmost Krishna had returned to them, they all stood up at once, and out of their affection for Him their eyes bloomed wide. It was as if the air of life had reentered their bodies.

In turn, to break Shri Radika’s mana, Shri Krishna ornamented Her with marvellously imaginative decorations made of flowers that He had personally picked and tying the lock of Shri Radhika's Hair.
