devau—the two Lords; räma-kåñëau—Kåñëa and Balaräma;
devaké-vasudevayoù—of Devaké and Vasudeva; samépam—near; jagmatuù—went; säkñät—directly; våñénbhiù—with the
Våndävanarsnis; pariväritau—accompanied.
Çré Närada said: Then, accompanied by the Våñëis, Kåñëa and
Balaräma, the two Supreme Personalities of Godhead, approached
Devaké and Vasudeva.

svatas tayor bandhanäni
yayuù çithilitäà nåpa
tau vékñya garuòaà präptaà
näga-päça-guëä yathä
svataù—personally; tayoù—of Them; bandhanäni—the
bonds; yayuù—went; çithilitäm—to looseness;
nåpa—O king; tau—Them; vékñya—seeing;
garuòam—Garuòa; präptam—attained; näga-päça-guëä—the
snake ropes; yathä—as.
O king, seeing their condition, Lord Kåñëa at once untied
their bonds, as Garuòa unties a knotted rope of snakes.

sva-prabhäva-vidau vékñya
pitarau sa-balo hariù
sadyas tatäna sväà mäyäà
jagan-moha-karià balät
sva-prabhäva-vidau—aware of His own power;
vékñya—seeing; pitarau—the parents; sa-balaù—with
Balaräma; hariù—Kåñëa; sadyaù—at once;
tatäna—expanded; sväm—own; mäyäm—illusion;
jagan-moha-karim—which bewilders the universes; balät—by His
power.
Seeing that Their parents had become aware of Their
transcendental power, Kåñëa and Balaräma at once bewildered them
with His illusory potency, which bewilders all the worlds.

räma-kåñëau sutau jïätvä
çaurir moha-samäkulaù
devakyä sahasotthäya
sasvaje cäçru-püritaù
räma-kåñëau—Kåñëa and Balaräma; sutau—the two sons; jïätvä—understanding; çauriù—Vasudeva;
moha-samäkulaù—bewildered; devakyä—with Devaké;
sahasä—at once; utthäya—rising; sasvaje—embraced; ca—and; açru—with tears; püritaù—filled.
Now thinking Kåñëa and Balaräma his own sons, bewildered
Vasudeva suddenly stood up. His eyes filled with tears, he and
Devaké embraced their two sons.

täv äçväsya hariù sadyo
våñëibhiù pariväritaù
mätämahaà tügrasenaà
cakära mathurädhipam
tau—them; äçväsya—consoling; hariù—Lord
Kåñëa; sadyaù—at once; våñëibhiù—the Vrsnis;
pariväritaù—with; mätämaham—His maternal grandfather;
tu—indeed; ugrasenam—Ugrasena; cakära—made;
mathurädhipam—the king of Mathurä.
Accompanied by the Våñëis, Lord Kåñëa consoled His parents.
Then He crowned king of Mathurä His maternal grandfather,
Ugrasena.
Text 6
ähüya yädavän kaàsa-
bhayäd deçäntaraà gatän
premëä niväsayäm äsa
sa-kuöumbän yadoù puré
ähüya—calling; yädavän—the Yadavas; kaàsa—of
Kaàsa; bhayät—out of fear; deçäntaram—to other
countries; gatän—gone; premëä—with love;
niväsayäm äsa—gave homes; sa-kuöumbän—with their
families; yadoù—of the Yadavas; puré—in the city.
Calling together the Yädavas that had fled to other
countries out of fear of Kaàsa, Lord Kåñëa affectionaltely gave
homes in Mathurä to them and their families.
Text 7
nanda-räjaà gopa-gaëaiù
sva-gåhän gantum udyatam
natvä taà sa-balaù präha
mohayann iva mäyayä
nanda-räjam—King Nanda; gopa-gaëaiù—with the gopas; sva-gåhän—own homes; gantum—to go;
udyatam—prepared; natvä—bowing; tam—to him; sa-
balaù—with Balaräma; präha—said;
mohayann—bewildering; iva—as if; mäyayä—with His
illusory potency.
Then, bewildering them with Their illusory potency, Kåñëa
and Balaräma bowed down before King Nanda and ther gopas, who
were now eager to return to theor homes. Kåñëa said to them:

atraiva väsaà kuru täta puryäà
gantuà yadécchä manasotthitä syät
paçcäd ahaà vai sa-balo yadün vä
vidhäya pärçvaà tava cägamiñye
atra—here; eva—indeed; väsam—residence;
kuru—do; tata—O father; puryäm—in the city;
gantum—to go; yadi—if; icchä—the desire;
manasä—by the mind; utthitä—risen; syät—may be;
paçcät—then; aham—I; vai—indeed; sa-balaù—with
Balaräma; yadün—to the Yadavas; vä—indeed;
vidhäya—placing; pärçvam—at the side; tava—of you; ca—and; ägamiñye—I will come.
Father, please stay here in Mathurä for a while. If the
desire to leave has risen in your heart, then please return to
Vraja. Balaräma and I, with the Yädavas at Our side, will return
there after a little while.

çré-närada uväca—Çré Närada said; evam—thus;
çré-räma-kåñëäbhyäm—with Kåñëa and Balaräma; nanda-
räjaù—King Nanda; prapüjitaù—worshiped;
äliìgya—embraced; çaurim—Vasudeva; gopälaiù—with the
gopas; yayau—went; premäturaù—overcome with love; vrajam—to Vraja.
Çré Närada said: After being worshiped by Kåñëa and
Balaräma, affectionate King Nanda embraced Vasudeva and then
returned with the gopas to Vraja.

dattaà çré-kåñëa-janmarkñe
dhenünäà niyutaà purä
brähmaëebhyo dadau çaurir
vastra-mälä-sv-alaìkåtam
dattam—given; çré-kåñëa-janmarkñe—on Lord Kåñëa's
birthday; dhenünäm—ifcows; niyutam—a million;
purä—previously; brähmaëebhyaù—to the Balarämas;
dadau—gave; çauriù—Vasudeva; vastra-mälä-sv-
alaìkåtam—garments and ornaments.
Then Vasudeva gave a million cows, along with many valuable
garments and ornaments, in charity to the brähmaëas. This was the
charity that previously he gave in meditation on the day of Lord
Kåñëa's birth.

çaurir gargaà samähüya
çré-kåñëa-baladevayoù
yajïopavétaà vidhi-vat
kärayäm äsa dharma-vit
çauriù—Vasudwva; gargam—Garga Muni;
samähüya—calling; çré-kåñëa-baladevayoù—of Çré Kåñëa and
Balaräma; yajïopavétam—giving the sacred
thread; vidhi-vat—according to the rules; kärayäm
äsa—did; dharma-vit—knowing the truth of religion.
Then pious Vasudeva called Garga Muni and had him perform
the sacred-thread ceremony for Kåñëa and Balaräma.
Text 12
räma-kåñëau sarva-vidyä-
dhyayanaà kartum udyatau
guroù sändépaneù pärçvaà
jagmatur janavat parau
räma-kåñëau—Kåñëa and Balaräma; sarva-vidyä—of all
knowledge; adhyayanam—the study; kartum—to do;
udyatau—eager; guroù—of the guru; sändépaneù—Sändépani
Muni; pärçvam—at the side; jagmatuù—went;
janavat—as ordinary persons; parau—the two Supreme
Personalities of Godhead.
Then, as if They were ordinary boys eager to learn all
things, the two Supreme Personalities of Godhead, Kåñëa and
Balaräma, went to the home of Their guru, Sändépani Muni.

kåtvä paraà guroù sevaà
laghu-kälena mädhavau
sarva-vidyäà jagåhatuù
sarva-vidyä-vidäà varau
kåtvä—doing; param—great; guroù—of the guru; sevam—service; laghu-kälena—in a short time;
mädhavau—Kåñëa and Balaräma; sarva-vidyäm—all knowledge; jagåhatuù—grasped; sarva-vidyä-vidäm—of the knowers of
all knowledge; varau—the best.
After rendering excellent service to Their guru, in a very
short time Kåñëa and Balaräma, who were already the best of all-
knowing philosophers, became learned in everything.

gurave dakñiëäà dätuà
udyatau tau kåtäïjalé
måtaà putraà dakñiëäyäà
täbhyäà vavre gurur dvijaù
gurave—to Their guru; dakñiëäm—daksina; dätum—to
give; udyatau—eager; tau—They; kåtäïjalé—with folded hands; måtam—dead;
putram—son; dakñiëäyäm—in daksina; täbhyäm—to
Them; vavre—chose; guruù—of the guru;
dvijaù—the brähmaëa.
When Kåñëa and Balaräma approached with folded hands to
offer daksiëä, Their brähmaëa guru chose the return of his dead
son as his dakñiëä.

ratham äruhya tau dantau
çätakumbha-paricchadam
prabhäse cäbdhi-nikaöaà
jagmatur bhéma-vikramau
ratham—chariot; äruhya—climbing; tau—They;
dantau—austere; çätakumbha-paricchadam—made of gold;
prabhäse—at Prabhasa-ksetra; ca—and; abdhi—the
ocean; nikaöam—near; jagmatuù—went; bhéma-
vikramau—very powerful.
Riding in a golden chariot, powerful Kåñëa and Balaräma came
to Prabhäsa-kñetra by the shore of the ocean.

sadyaù prakampitaù sindhü
ratnopäyanam uttamam
nétvä tac-caraëopänte
nipapäta kåtäïjaliù
sadyaù—at once; prakampitaù—trembling; sindhü—the
ocean; ratna—of jewels; upäyanam—gift;
uttamam—great; nétvä—bringing; tat-caraëopänte—at
Their feet; nipapäta—fell; kåtäïjaliù—with
folded hands.
At once the deity of the ocean appeared. Trembling, he
offered a gift of jewels to Kåñëa and Balaräma and with folded
hands fell at Their feet.

tam äha bhagavän çéghraà
putraà dehi guror mama
pracaëòormi-ghaöäöopais
tvayä tad-grahaëaà kåtam
tam—to him; äha—said; bhagavän—the Supreme
Personality of Godhead; çéghram—at once; putram—the
son; dehi—give; guroù—of the guru; mama—of
Me; pracaëòormi-ghaöäöopaiù—with powerful waves;
tvayä—by you; tad-grahaëam—tha taking of him;
kåtam—done.
To him Lord Kåñëa said, "Return at once My guru's
son, whom you took with your powerful waves."
Text 18
çré-samudra uväca
bhagavan deva-deveça
na mayä bälako håtaù
håtaù païcajanenäsau
çaìkha-rüpäsureëa vai
çré-samudra uväca—the ocean said; bhagavan—O Lord; deva-deveça—O master of the demigods; na—not;
mayä—by me; bälakaù—the boy; håtaù—taken;
håtaù—taken; païcajanena—by Pancajana;
asau—he; çaìkha-rüpäsureëa—a demon in the form of a
conch; vai—certainly.
The ocean deity said: O Lord, O master of the demigods, I
did not take the boy. The conch-demon Païcajana took him.
Text 19
vasan sadä mad-udare
baliñöho daitya-puìgavaù
jetuà yogyas tvayä deva
devänäà bhaya-kärakaù
vasan—residing; sadä—always; mad-udare—in my
belly; baliñöhaù—powerful; daitya-puìgavaù—great
demon; jetum—to defeat; yogyaù—proper; tvayä—by
You; deva—O Lord; devänäm—of the demigods;
bhaya-kärakaù—the bringer of fear.
O Lord, You are so powerful that You frighten even the
demigods. Therefore it is proper that You defeat this very strong
demon that always stays in my abdomen.

tenokto bhagavän kåñëo
väso baddhvä kaöau dåòham
nipapäta mahä-vegät
samudre bhéma-nädini
çré-närada uväca—Çré Närada said; tena—by him;
uktaù—addressed; bhagavän—the Supreme Personality of
Godhead; kåñëaù—Kåñëa; väsaù—garment;
baddhvä—tying; kaöau—at His waist; dåòham—firm;
nipapäta—dived; mahä-vegät—quickly; samudre—in the
ocean; bhéma-nädini—with terrible waves.
Çré Närada said: When He heard these words, Lord Kåñëa
tightened the sash at His waist and dove into the ocean of
terrible waves.

çré-kåñëasya nipätena
tri-loké-bhära-dhäriëaù
cakampe 'bdhir bhåçaà vajrä-
kuöeneva videha-räö
çré-kåñëasya—of Çré Kåñëa; nipätena—by the dive;
tri-loké-bhära-dhäriëaù—holding the three worlds;
cakampe—trembled; abdhiù—the ocean;
bhåçam—greatly; vajrä-kuöena—with a thunderbolt;
iva—like; videha-räö—O king of Videha.
O king of Videha, when Lord Kåñëa dove into it, the ocean,
which holds up the three worlds, trembled as if it had been
struck by a thunderbolt.

tataù païcajano daityo
yoddhuà çré-kåñëa-sammukhe
ägataù sahasä véraù
çülaà cikñepa mädhave
tataù—then; païcajanaù—Pancajana;
daityaù—the demon; yoddhum—to fight; çré-kåñëa-
sammukhe—facing Çré Kåñëa; ägataù—came; sahasä—at
once; véraù—ferocious; çülam—a spear;
cikñepa—threw; mädhave—at Lord Kåñëa.
Eager to fight, the ferocious demon Païcajana at
once came before Lord Kåñëa and threw a spear at Him.
Text 23
haste gåhétvä tac-chülaà
tenaiväbhijaghäna tam
tad-ghätena prapatito
mürchito väri-maëòale
haste—in one hand; gåhétvä—taking; tac-
chülam—that spear; tena—with it; eva—indeed;
abhijaghäna—struck; tam—him; tad-ghätena—by that
blow; prapatitaù—fell; mürchitaù—unconscious;
väri-maëòale—in the waters.
Catching the spear in one hand, Lord Kåñëa threw it back at
the demon. Wounded by the spear, the demon fell unconscious into
the waters.

sahasotthäya deveçaà
kiïcid vyäkula-mänasaù
mürdhnä tatäòa pakñéndraà
sva-phaëena phäné yathä
sahasä—at once; utthäya—rising; deveçam—the
Supreme Personality of Godhead; kiïcit—a
little; vyäkula-mänasaù—agitated at heart;
mürdhnä—with his head; tatäòa—struck;
pakñéndram—Garuòa; sva-phaëena—with his cvoils;
phäné—a snake; yathä—as.
Suddenly getting up, and now a little agitated at heart,
with his head the demon struck Lord Kåñëa as with its hood a
snake strikes Garuòa.

paripürëatamaù säkñäc
chré-kåñëo bhagavän hariù
kruddho murdhani vegena
muñöinä taà tatäòa ha
paripürëatamaù—the Supreme Personality of Godhead;
säkñät—directly; çré-kåñëaù—Çré Kåñëa; bhagavän—the
Lord; hariù—Hari; kruddhaù—angry; murdhani—on
the head; vegena—powerful; muñöinä—with a punch; tam—him; tatäòa—struck; ha—indeed.
Now angry, Lord Kåñëa, the original Supreme Personality of
Godhead, ferociously punched the demon on his head.
Text 26
kåñëa-muñöi-prahäreëa
sadyo vai nidhanaà gataù
taj-jyotiù çré-ghanaçyäme
lénaà jätaà vidheha-räö
kåñëa—of Çré Kåñëa; muñöi-prahäreëa—by the punch; sadyaù—at once; vai—indeed; nidhanam—death;
gataù—attained; taj-jyotiù—his light; çré-
ghanaçyäme—in the dark cloud of Lord Kåñëa;
lénam—merged; jätam—attained; vidheha-räö—O king of
Videha.
O king of Videha, with that punch the demon died. The light
from his body then merged into the dark monsoon cloud of Lord
Kåñëa.

evaà hatvä païcajanaà
çaìkhaà nétvä tad-aìgajam
mahärëavän nirgato 'sau
sahasä ratham ägamat
evam—thus; hatvä—having killed; païcajanam—Pancajana; çaìkham—the conch;
nétvä—taking; tad-aìgajam—born from his body;
mahärëavät—from the ocean; nirgataù—came; asau—He; sahasä—at once; ratham—to the chariot; ägamat—came.
After killing the demon, Lord Kåñëa took the demon's shell,
left the great ocean, and returned to His chariot.

väyu-vegena yänena
räma-kåñëau manoharau
jagmatuù çamanasyäpi
dérghaà samyamanéà purém
väyu-vegena—as fast as the wond; yänena—with
traveling; räma-kåñëau—Kåñëa and Balaräma;
manoharau—handsome; jagmatuù—went; çamanasya—of
Yama; api—also; dérgham—long; samyamanéà
purém—Samyamani Puri.
Traveling as fast as the wind for a long time, glorious
Kåñëa and Balaräma came to Samyamané Puré, the city of Yamaräja.

päïcajanya-dhvanir lokaà
pracaëòo megha-ghoña-vat
pürayäm äsa taà çrutvä
cakampe sa-sabho yamaù
päïcajanya-dhvaniù—with the sound of the Pancajana
conchshell; lokam—the world; pracaëòaù—ferocious; megha-ghoña-vat—like thunder; pürayäm äsa—filled;
tam—that; çrutvä—hearing; cakampe—trembled; sa-
sabhaù—with his assembly; yamaù—Yamaräja.
Blowing the conchshell that had been Pa 241)cajana's
outer body, powerful Lord Kåñëa filled the world with a sound
like thunder. When they heard it, Yamaräja and his assembly
trembled.

catur-açéti-lakñeñu
narakeñu nipätitäù
yair yaiù çrutä dhvanis te te
jagmur mokñaà tu päpinaù
catur-açéti-lakñeñu—eight million four hundred thousand; narakeñu—into the hellish worlds; nipätitäù—fallen; yaiù yaiù—by whomever; çrutä—heard; dhvaniù—the
sound; te te—they; jagmuù—attained;
mokñam—liberation; tu—indeed; päpinaù—sinners.
Any of the sinners fallen in the eight million four hundred
thousand hells there that heard that sound at once attained
liberation.

yamaù sadyo balià nétvä
çré-kåñëa-baladevayoù
papäta caraëopänte
dharñitaù san kåtäïjaliù
yamaù—Yama; sadyaù—at oince; balim—an
offering; nétvä—bringing; çré-kåñëa-baladevayoù—to
Kåñëa and Balaräma; papäta—fell; caraëopänte—at the
feet; dharñitaù—humbled; san—being; kåtäïjaliù—with folded hands.
Bringing an offering in his folded hands, humble Yamaräja
fell down at the feet of Kåñëa and Balaräma.

çré-yama uväca
he hare he kåpä-sindho
räma räma mahä-bala
asaìkhya-brahmäëòa-paté
paripürëatamau yuväm
çré-yama uväca—Çré yamaräja said; he—O;
hare—Kåñëa; he—O; kåpä-sindhaù—ocean of mercy;
räma—O Balaräma; räma—Balaräma; mahä-bala—very
powerful; asaìkhya-brahmäëòa-paté—the two master of
numberless universes; paripürëatamau—the two Supreme
Personalities of Godhead; yuväm—You.
Çré Yamaräja said: O Kåñëa, O ocean of mercy! O Balaräma! O
powerful Balaräma! You are the two masters of numberless
universes. You are the two Supreme Personalities of Godhead.

devau puräëau puruñau mahäntau
sarveçvarau sarva-jagaj-janeçau
adyaiva sarvopari vartamänau
girä nijäjïäà vadataà pareçau
devau—Supreme Lords; puräëau—ancient;
puruñau—Supreme Persons; mahäntau—great;
sarveçvarau—the masters of all; sarva-jagat—of all
universes; jana—of the peoples; éçau—the masters; adya—today; eva—indeed; sarvopari—above all;
vartamänau—being; girä—with words; nija—own;
äjïäm—command; vadatam—please speak;
pareçau—two Lords.
You are the two ancient Supreme Persons, the masters of
everything, the rulers of all beings in all the worlds, the two
Supreme Lords who stand above all others. Please order me as You
wish.

guru-putraà loka-päla
änayasva mahä-mate
räjyaà kuru yathänyäyäà
mad-uktaà mänayan kvacit
çré-bhagavän uväca—the Supreme Personality of Godhead
said; guru-putram—the son of My guru; loka-päla—O
portector of the worlds; änayasva—bring; mahä-mate—O
noble-hearted one; räjyam—a kingdom; kuru—please
do; yathä—as; anyäyäm——in another; mat—by
Me; uktam—spoken; mänayan—honoring;
kvacit—somewhere.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: O protector of the
worlds, O noble-hearted one, bring to Me my guru's son. You
should rule your kingdom by obeying My words.

çré-närada uväca—Çré Närada said; tadä—then;
eva—indeed; tena—by him; upänétam—brought;
guru-putram—the guru's son; hariù—Kåñëa;
svayam—personally; gåhétvä—bringing;
avantikam—near; etya—coming; dadau—gave; çré-
gurave—to His guru; çiçum—the boy.
Çré Närada said: Lord Kåñëa then returned the boy to His
guru.

gurv-äçiñä samyutau tau
natvä taà hi kåtäïjalé
ratham äruhya mathuräà
ägatau yadu-püjitau
guru—of His guru; äçiñä—with the blessings;
samyutau—endowed; tau—They; natvä—bowing down;
tam—to him; hi—indeed; kåtäïjalé—with folded
hands; ratham—chariot; äruhya—mounting;
mathuräm—to Mathurä; ägatau—came; yadu-
püjitau—worshiped by the Yädavas.
After receiving Their guru's blessings, Kåñëa and Balaräma
bowed before him with folded hands. When, riding a chariot, They
returned to Mathurä, the Yädavass greeted Them with honor and
worship.

ekadä sa-balaù kåñëaù
sarva-käraëa-kärakaù
päëòavän saàsmaran bhaktän
akrüra-bhavanaà yayau
ekadä—one day; sa-balaù—with Balaräma;
kåñëaù—Kåñëa; sarva-käraëa-kärakaù—the cause of all
causes; päëòavän—to the Päëòavas;
saàsmaran—remembering; bhaktän—His devotees; akrüra-
bhavanam—to Akrüra's home; yayau—went.
Then, one day, remembering His devotees the Päëòavas, Lord
Kåñëa, the cause of all causes, went with Balaräma to Akrüra's
home.

akrüraù—Akrüra; sahasä—at once;
utthäya—rising; parirabhya—embracing; mudänvitaù—with
joy; upacäraiù—with offerings;
ñoòaçabhiù—sixteen; püjayitvä—worshiping;
atha—then; tau—Them; nåpa—O king.
Akrüra at once stood up and embraced Them. O king, he
worshiped Them with sixteen offerings.

jäta-pürëa-manorathaù
uväcänanda-janitaà
muïcan bäñpa-kaläà nåpa
kåtäïjaliù—with folded hands; puraù—before; sthitvä—standing; jäta-pürëa-manorathaù—all his desires
fulfilled; uväca—said; änanda-janitam—blissful; muïcan—shedding; bäñpa-kaläm—tears; nåpa—O
king.
O king, standing before Them with folded hands, shedding
tears of joy, and all his desires now fulfilled, Akrüra spoke the
following words.

täbhyäà nityaà namo namaù
yäbhyäà märge yad-uktaà me

two; räma-kåñëäbhyäm—Kåñëa and Balaräma; täbhyäm—to
Them; nityam—always; namaù—obeisances;
namaù—obeisances; yäbhyäm—whom; märge—on the path; yad-uktam—spoken; me—to me; pürëam—perfect;

Çré Akrüra said: O Kåñëa and Balaräma, again and again I
offer my respectful obeisances to You. O my two Lords, what You
told me on the path has now all become true.

cäntar bahiù sarva-jagat-pradépakau
go-vipra-sädhu-çruti-dharma-devatä-
rakñärtham adyaiva yadoù kule gatau
loka—of the worlds; abhirämau—the happinesses;
jana-bhüñaëottamau—the best of ronaments ofr the people;
ca—and; antaù—inside; bahiù—outside; sarva-
jagat—all the worlds; pradépakau—the two lamps;
gaù—the cows; vipra—brähmaëas; sädhu—devotees;
çruti—Vedas; dharma—religion; devatä—and the
demigods; rakñä—of protection; artham—for the
purpose; adya—now; eva—indeed; yadoù—of the
Yädavass; kule—in the dynasty; gatau—gone.
You are the two joys of the worlds, the two ornaments of the
people, the two lamps that light up all the universes and the
realms beyond the universes. To protect the cows, brähmaëas,
devotees, demigods, Vedas, and the principles of religion, You
have both taken birth in the Yädava dynasty.

kaàsädi-daityendra-vinäça-hetave
goloka-lokät paripürëa-tejasau
samägatau bhärata-bhümi-maëòale
yuväà pareçau satataà nato 'smy aham
kaàsa—by Kaàsa; ädi—headed; daityendra—the great
demons; vinäça-hetave—to destroy; goloka-lokät—from
the realm of Goloka; paripürëa—perfect; tejasau—power
and glory; samägatau—come; bhärata-bhümi-maëòale—to
the earth; yuväm—You; pareçau—the Supreme Lords; satatam—always; nataù—bowed down; asmy—am;
aham—I.
To kill the demons headed by Kaàsa, You have now come to
this earth. You are the two Lords filled with power and glory. O
two Supreme Personalities of Godhead, I bow down before You again
and again.

çré-bhagavän uväca
tvam arya-våddho dhåtimän
ahaà tava puraù çiçuù
santo naù svätmanaù çläghyaà
kurvanti hi mahä-mate
çré-bhagavän uväca—the Supreme Personality of Godhead
said; tvam—you; arya-våddhaù—O the elder leader of
the saintly; dhåtimän—thoughtful; aham—I;
tava—of you; puraù—in the presence; çiçuù—a child; santaù—the devotees; na—not; svätmanaù—of the
self; çläghyam—praised; kurvanti—do;
hi—indeed; mahä-mate—O noble-hearted one.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: You are a
thoughtful and respected elder, and I am only a boy standing
before you. O noble-hearted one, even the great saints cannot
praise you enough.

päëòavänäà hi kuçalaà
drañöuà gaccha gajähvayam
çéghram ägaccha tän dåñövä
sarvän däna-pate bhavän
päëòavänäm—of the Päëòavas; hi—indeed;
kuçalam—the welfare; drañöum—to see; gaccha—go;
gajähvayam—to hastinäpura; çéghram—at once;
ägaccha—return; tän—them; dåñövä—seeing;
sarvän—all; däna-pate—O leader of they who are generous; bhavän—you.
Go at once to Hastinäpura and see whether the Päëòavas are
happy and prosperous. O leader of the kind and generous, when you
have seen everything, then quickly return here.

çré-närada uväca
evam uktvä tadäkrüraà
bhagavän bhakta-vatsalaù
sa-balaù çauri-bhavanaà
äyayau sarva-kärya-kåt
çré-närada uväca—Çré Närada said; evam—thus;
uktvä—speaking; tadä—then; akrüram—to Akrüra;
bhagavän—the Lord; bhakta—to the devotees;
vatsalaù—affectionate; sa-balaù—with Balaräma; çauri-
bhavänäm—to vasudeva's home; äyayau—went; sarva-
kärya-kåt—doing everything.
Çré Närada said: After speaking these words to Akrüra, Lord
Kåñëa, the supreme controller, who is kind to His devotees, went
with Balaräma to Vasudeva's palace.

kauravendra-puraà gatvä-
krüro dåñövätha päëòavän
punar ägatya kåñëäya
värtäà sarväm avarëayat
kauravendra-puram—to the palace of the king of the
Kauravas; gatvä—having gone; akrüraù—Akrüra;
dåñövä—having seen; atha—then; päëòavän—the
Päëòavas; punaù—again; ägatya—returning;
kåñëäya—to Kåñëa; värtam—the news; sarvam—all;
avarëayat—described.
Akrüra went to Hastinäpura, saw the Päëòavas, returned, and
related to Lord Kåñëa all he had seen.

vinä yuväà ko 'pi na päëòavänäà
sahäya-kåt kaurava-duùkha-bhoginäm
måte ca päëòau bhavatoù padämbuje
vilagna-cittä hi påthätmajä ye
çré-akrüra uväca—Çré Akrüra said; vinä—without;
yuväm—You both; ko 'pi—someone; na—not;
päëòavänäm—of the päëòavas; sahäya—help;
kåt—doing; kaurava—from the Kauravas; duùkha-
bhoginäm—suffering; måte—dead; ca—and;

Çré Akrüra said: Harassed by the Kauravas, the Päëòavas have
placed all their thoughts at Your lotus feet. Now that King Päëòu
is dead, no one but You can help them.

çré-kåñëaù—Çré Kåñëa; bhagavän—Lord; hariù—Hari; ardham—half; räjyam—the kingdom; päëòavebhyaù—to
the Päëòavas; kauraväëäm—of the Kauravas;
balät—forcibly; dadau—gave.
Çré Närada said: After hearing this from Akrüra's mouth,
Lord Kåñëa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, forced the
Kauravas to give half their kingdom to the Päëòavas.

athoktaà vacanaà småtvä
tadoddhava-samanvitaù
mahä-maìgala-samyuktaà
kubjäyä bhavanaà yayau
atha—then; uktam—spoken; vacanam—words;
småtvä—remembering; tadä—then; uddhava-
samanvitaù—withj Uddhava; mahä-maìgala-samyuktam—very
auspicious; kubjäyä—of Kubjä; bhavanam—to the
home; yayau—went.
Then, remembering His promise, the Lord went with Uddhava to
Kubjä's home.

dåñöväräc chré-harià präptaà
kubjä rüpavaté tvaram
bhaktyä samarhayäm äsa
padyädyaiù präëa-vallabham
dåñövä—seeing; ärät—near; çré-harim—Çré
Kåñëa; präptam—attained; kubjä—Kubjä;
rüpavaté—beautiful; tvaram—at once; bhaktyä—with
devotion; samarhayäm äsa—worshiped; padyädyaiù—with
padya and other offerings; präëa-vallabham—more dear than
life.
Seeing that Lord Kåñëa, who was more dear than life to her,
had come, beautiful Kubjä worshiped Him with padya and other
offerings.

hema-ratna-khacit-kuòye
kubjäyä bhavanottame
babhau hariù rüpavatyä
vaikuëöhe ramayä yathä
hema—with gold; ratna—and jewels;
khacit—tudded; kuòye—with walls; kubjäyä—of Kubjä; bhavanottame—in the palace; babhau—was splendidly
manifested; hariù—Lord Kåñëa;
rüpavatyä—beautiful; vaikuëöhe—in Vaikuëöha;
ramayä—with the goddess of fortune; yathä—as.
As in Vaikuëöha He is glorious with the goddess of fortune,
so in her palace of gold and jewels, Lord Kåñëa was handsome and
glorious, beautiful Kubjä by His side,

paripürëatamaù säkñäc
chré-kåñëo bhagavän svayam
yasyäù patir abhüd räjann
aho tasyäs tapo mahat
paripürëatamaù säkñäc chré-kåñëo bhagavän svayam—Lord Kåñëa,
the perfect Supreme Personality of Godhead; yasyäù—of
whom; patiù—the lover; abhüt—became; räjann—O
king; ahaù—Oh; tasyäù—of her;
tapaù—austerity; mahat—great.
O king, Kubjä must have performed many great austerities to
obtain Çré Kåñëa, the original Supreme Personality of Godhead, as
her lover.

tatra sthitvä harir devo
dinäny añöau videha-räö
äyayau çauri-bhavanaà
lélä-mänusa-vigrahaù
tatra—there; sthitvä—staying; hariù—Lord
Kåñëa; devaù—the Lord; dinäny—days;
añöau—eight; videha-räö—O kin gof Videha;
äyayau—came; çauri-bhavanam—to Vasudweva's palace;
lélä-mänusa-vigrahaù—the Lord who enjoys pastimes as a human
being.
O king of Videha, after staying there for eight days, Çré
Kåñëa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead who enjoys pastimes
like those of a human being, returned to Vasudeva's palace.

In answer to your questions I have described Lord Kåñëa's
pastimes in Mathurä City. This sacred description removes all
sins, prolongs life, grants the four goals of life, and makes
Lord Kåñëa into one's submissive servant. What more do you wish
