Description of Çré Rädhä-Kåñëa's Falling in Love

Text 1

çré-närada uväca

idaà mayä te kathitaà

käliyasyäpi mardanam

çré-kåñëa-caritaà puëyaà

kià bhüyaù çrotum icchasi

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said; idam—this; mayä—by me; te—to you; kathitam—told; käliyasya—of Kaliya; api—also; mardanam—the defeat; çré-kåñëa-caritam—Çré Kåñëa's pastimes; puëyam—sacred; kim—what?; bhüyaù—more; çrotum—to her; icchasi—you wish.

Çré Närada said: I have recounted to you Çré Kåñëa's sacred pastime of crushing Käliya. What more do you wish to hear?

çré-bahuläçva uväca

çré-kåñëasya kathäà çrutvä

bhaktas tåptià na yäti hi

yathämaraù sudhäà pitvä

yathäliù padma-karëikäm

çré-bahuläçvaù uväca—Çré Bahuläçva said; çré-kåñëasya—of Çré Kåñëa; katham—the topics; çrutvä—hearing; bhaktaù—the devotee; tåptim—satiation; na—not; yäti—attains; hi—indeed; yathä—as; amaraù—a demigod; sudhäm—nectar; pitvä—drinking; yathä—as; aliù—a bee; padma—of a lotus; karëikäm—the whorl.

Çré Bahuläçva said: As a demigod never tires of drinking nectar and a bee never tires of drinking from the whorl of a lotus, so a devotee never tires of hearing Çré Kåñëa's pastimes.

Text 3

räsaà kartuà harau jäte

çiçu-rüpe mahätmäni

bhäëòire deva-väg äha

çré-rädhäà khinna-mänasäm

räsam—the rasa dance; kartum—to perform; harau—when Lord Kåñëa; jäte—was manifested; çiçu-rüpe—in the form of a child; mahätmani——the Lord; bhäëòire—in Bhandiravana; deva—of a demigod; väk—the voice; äha—said; çré-rädhäm—to Çré Rädhä; khinna-mänasäm—who was unhappy at heart.

When Lord Kåñëa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, was a child, and Çré Rädhä was unhappy at heart because She yearned to enjoy the räsa dance with Him, in Bhäëòiravana forest a divine voice said:

çocaà ma kuru kalyäëi

våndäraëye manohare

manorathas te bhavitä

çré-kåñëena mahätmanä

çocam—lamentation; ma—don't; kuru—do; kalyäëi—O beautiful one; våndäraëye—in Våndävana forest; manohare—beautiful; manorathaù—desire; te—Your; bhavitä—will be; çré-kåñëena—with Lord Kåñëa; mahätmanä—the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

O beautiful one, don't lament. In beautiful Våndävana forest Your desire to enjoy with Çré Kåñëa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, will be fulfilled.

itthaà deva-girä prokto

manoratha-mahärëavaù

kathaà babhüva bhagavän

våndäraëye manohare

ittham—thus; deva-girä—by the divine voice; proktaù—addressed; manoratha—of desires; mahä—a great; arëavaù—ocean; katham—how?; babhüva—became; bhagavän—the Supreme Personality of Godhead; våndäraëye—in Våndävana; manohare—beautiful.

After the divine voice spoke these words how did the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is a great ocean of fulfilled desires, come to beautiful Våndävana forest??

katham—how?; çré-rädhayä—Çré Rädhä; särdham—with; räsa-kréòäm—the rasa pastime; manoharäm—beautiful; cakära—did; våndakäraëye—in Våndävana; paripürëatamaù—the Supreme Personality of Godhead; svayam—Himself.

In beautiful Våndävana forest how did the Supreme Personality of Godhead enjoy the räsa-dance pastime with Çré Rädhä?

çré-närada uväca

sädhu påñöhaà tvayä räjan

bhagavac-caritaà çubham

guptaà vadämi devaiç ca

léläkhyänaà manoharam

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said; sädhu—well; påñöham—asked; tvayä—by you; räjan—O king; bhagavac-caritam—the Lord's pastimes; çubham—auspicious; guptam—secret; vadämi—I tell; devaiç—by the demigods; ca—and; léläkhyänam—the story of pastimes; manoharam—beautiful.

Çré Närada said: O king, you have asked well. I will tell the Lord's beautiful and auspicious pastime, which is hidden even from the demigods.

ekadä mukhya-sakhyau dve

viçäkhä-lalite çubhe

våñabhänor gåhaà präpya

taà rädhäà jagmatü rahaù

ekadä—one day; mukhya-sakhyau—the two most important friends; dve—two; viçäkhä-lalite—Viçäkhä and Lalitä; çubhe—beautioful; våñabhänoù—of King Våñabhänu; gåham—to the home; präpya—attaining; tam—to Her; rädhäm—Rädhä; jagmatü—wnet; rahaù—in private.

One day Her two most intimate friends, beautiful Lalitä and Viçäkhä, went to Mahäräja Våñabhänu's palace and approached Rädhä in private.

Text 9

çré-sakhyäv ücatuù

yaà cintayasi rädhe tvaà

yad-guëaà vadasi svataù

so 'pi nityaà samäyäti

våñabhänu-pure 'rbhakaiù

çré-sakhyau ücatuù—the two friends said; yam—whom; cintayasi—You meditate; rädhe—O Rädhä; tvam—You; yad-guëam—whose virtues; vadasi—You say; svataù—Himself; saù—He; api—aslo; nityam—always; samäyäti—comes; våñabhänu-pure—to the palace of King Våñabhänu; arbhakaiù—with many boys.

The two friends said: He on whom You meditate and whose virtues You praise, with many boys again and again comes to King Våñabhänu's palace.

prekñaëéyas tvayä rädhe

darçanéyo 'ti-sundaraù

paçcimäyäà niçéthinyäà

go-cäraëa-vinirgataù

prekñaëéyaù—should be seen; tvayä—by You; rädhe—O Rädhä; darçanéyaù—should be seen; ati-sundaraù—very handsome; paçcimäyäm—in the west; niçéthinyäm—in the evening; go-cäraëa—from herding the cows; vinirgataù—returning.

O Rädhä, in the evening He comes from the west, returning with the cows. You should see Him. He is very handsome.

çré-rädhoväca

likhitvä tasya citraà hi

darçayäçu manoharam

tarhi tat-prekñaëaà paçcät

kariñyämi na saàçayaù

çré-rädhä uväca—Çré Rädhä said; likhitvä—having drawn; tasya—His; citram—picture; hi—indeed; darçaya—show; äçu—at once; manoharam—handsome; tarhi—then; tat-prekñaëam—seeing Him; paçcät—from the west; kariñyämi—I will do; na—no; saàçayaù—doubt.

Çré Rädhä said: Draw a handsome picture of Him. Then I will look for Him in the west. Of this there is no doubt.

atha sakhyau vyalikhatäà

citraà nanda-çiçoù çubham

nava-yauvana-mädhuryaà

rädhäyai dadatus tvaram

çré-närada uväca—Çré Närada said; atha—then; sakhyau—the two friends; vyalikhatäm—drew; citram—a picture; nanda—of Nanda; çiçoù—of the son; çubham—handsome; nava-yauvana-mädhuryam—sweet with new youth; rädhäyai—to Rädhä; dadatuù—gave; tvaram—at once.

The two friends drew a picture, handsome and filled with the sweetness of new youth, of Nanda's son, Kåñëa, and gave it to Rädhä.

tad dåñövä harñitä rädhä

kåñëa-darçana-lälasä

citraà kare präpaçyanté

suñväpänanda-saìkulä

tat—that; dåñövä—seeing; harñitä—happy; rädhä—Rädhä; kåñëa-darçana-lälasä—yearning to see Kåñëa; citram—picture; kare—in Her hand; prapaçyanté—gazing; suñväpa—fainted; änanda—with bliss; saìkulä—filled.

When Rädhä saw the picture She became very happy. Gazing at the picture in Her hand, yearning to see Kåñëa, and now overcome with bliss, She fainted.

Text 14

dadarça kåñëaà bhavane çayänä

ghana-prabhaà péta-paöaà dadhänam

bhäëòéra-deçe yamunäà sametya

nåtyantam äräd våñabhänu-putré

dadarça—saw; kåñëam—Kåñëa; bhavane—in Her home; çayänä—resting; ghana-prabham—splendid as a monsoon cloud; péta-paöam—wearing yellow garments; dadhänam—wearing; bhäëòéra-deçe—in Bhandiravana; yamunäm—to the Yamunä; sametya—going; nåtyantam—dancing; ärät—near; våñabhänu-putré—Våñabhänu's daughter.

As She slept in Her home, Våñabhänu's daughter Rädhä dreamed of going to the Yamunä, where She gazed at Kåñëa, dark as a monsoon cloud, dressed in yellow garments, and dancing in Bhäëòéravana forest.

Text 15

tadaiva rädhä çayanät samutthitä

parasya kåñëasya viyoga-vihvalä

saïcintayanté kamanéya-rüpiëaà

mene trilokéà tåëavad videha-räö

tadä—then; eva—indeed; rädhä—Rädhä; çayanät—from sleep; samutthitä—rising; parasya—of the Supreme; kåñëasya—Kåñëa; viyoga-vihvalä—in the anguish of separation; saïcintayanté—remembering; kamanéya-rüpiëam—handsome; mene—considered; trilokém—the three worlds; tåëavat—like a blade of grass; videha-räö—O king of Videha.

O king of Videha, when Rädhä rose from sleep, She was filled with the anguish of separation from Kåñëa. Always thinking of His handsome form, She thought the three worlds had become like a single blade of grass.

Text 16

tarhy ävrajantaà sva-vanäd vrajeçvaraà

saìkoca-véthyäà våñabhänu-paööane

gaväkñam etyäçu sakhé-pradarçitaà

dåñövä tu murcchäà samaväpa sundaré

tarhi—then; ävrajantam—coming; sva-vanät—from His forest; vrajeçvaram—the king of Vraja; saìkoca-véthyäm—on a narrow path; våñabhänu-paööane—in Våñabhänu's palace; gaväkñam—to the window; etya—going; äçu—at once; sakhé—by Her friends; pradarçitam—shown; dåñövä—seeing; tu—indeed; murcchäm—fainting; samaväpa—attained; sundaré—the beautiful girl.

Going to a window and, as Her two friends pointed to Him, gazing at Kåñëa, the master of Vraja as He walked on the narrow path from His own forest to King Våñabhänu's palace, beautiful Rädhä fainted.

Text 17

kåñëo 'pi dåñövä våñabhänu-nandinéà

surüpa-kauçalya-yutäà guëäçrayäm

kurvan mano rantum atéva mädhavo

lélä-tanuù sa prayayau sva-mandiram

kåñëaù—Kåñëa; api—also; dåñövä—seeing; våñabhänu-nandiném—the daughter of Våñabhänu; surüpa-kauçalya-yutam—beautiful; guëäçrayam—where many transcendental virtues are sheltered; kurvan—doing; manaù—the heart; rantum—to rejoice; atéva—greatly; mädhavaù—Kåñëa; lélä-tanuù—pastime form; sa—He; prayayau—went; sva-mandiram—to His own palace.

Glancing at Våñabhänu's beautiful daughter Rädhä, who sheltered a host of transcendental virtues, and deciding in His heart to enjoy with Her, playful Kåñëa went on to His own palace.

Text 18

evaà tataù kåñëa-viyoga-vihvaläà

prabhüta-käma-jvara-khinna-mänasäm

samvékñya rädhäà våñabhänu-nandinéà

uväca väcaà lalitä sakhé varä

evam—thus; tataù—from that; kåñëa-viyoga-vihvaläm—anxious in separation from Kåñëa; prabhüta-käma-jvara—by the flames of desire; khinna—tormented; mänasäm—heart; samvékñya—seeing; rädhäm—Rädhä; våñabhänu-nandiném—Våñabhänu's daughter; uväca—said; väcam—words; lalitä—Lalitä; sakhé—friend; varä—best.

Seeing Her anguished by Kåñëa's absence and Her heart tortured by flames of love for Him, beautiful Lalitä-sakhé spoke to Våñabhänu's daughter Rädhä.

kathaà tvaà vihvalä rädhe

mürcchitäti-vyathäà gatä

yadécchasi harià su-bhru

tasmin snehaà dåòhaà kuru

çré-lalitä uväca—Çré Lalitä said; katham—why?; tvam—You; vihvalä—overcome; rädhe—O Rädhä; mürcchitäti-vyathäm—fasinting; gatä—attained; yadi—if; icchasi—You wish; harim—to Kåñëa; su-bhru—O girl with the beautiful eyebrows; tasmin—in Him; sneham—love; dåòham—strong. kuru—do.

Çré Lalitä said: O Rädhä, why are You unconscious? O beautiful-eyebowed one, if You wish to attain Kåñëa, then give all Your love to Him.

lokasyäpi sukhaà sarvaà

adhikåtyästi sämpratam

duùkhägni-håt pradahati

kumbhakärägni-vac chubhe

lokasya—of the world; api—even; sukham—the happiness; sarvam—all; adhikåtya—attaining; asti—is; sämpratam—now; duùkha—of misery; agni—fire; håt—heart; pradahati—burns; kumbhakärägni-vat—like a potter's fire; çubhe—O beautiful one.

O beautiful one, even now that You have found the person that brings all happiness to the world, Your heart still burns like the fire in a potter's kiln.

lalitäyäç ca lalitaà

vacaù çrutvä vrajeçvaré

netre unmélya lalitäà

präha gadgadayä girä

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said; lalitäyäç—of Lalitä; ca—and; lalitam—eloquent; vacaù—words; çrutvä—hearing; vrajeçvaré—the queen of Vraja; netre—eyes; unmélya—opening; lalitäm—to lalitä; präha—said; gadgadayä—choked up; girä—with a voice.

Çré Närada said: Hearing Lalitä's graceful words, Vraja's goddess, Rädhä, opened Her eyes and spoke in a faltering voice.

vrajälaìkära-caraëau

na präptau yadi me kila

kadäcid vigrahaà tarhi

na hi svaà dhärayämy aham

çré-rädhä uväca—Çré Rädhä said; vraja—of Vraja; alaìkära—the decoration;caraëau— na—whose feet; präptau—attained; yadi—if; me—by Me; kila—indeed; kadäcit—at some time; vigraham—the form; tarhi—then; na—not; hi—indeed; svam—own; dhärayämi—I maintain; aham—I.

Çré Rädhä said: If I cannot attain His feet, which now decorate this land of Vraja, I will not keep My body alive.

iti çrutvä vacas tasyä

lalitä bhaya-vihvalä

çré-kåñëa-pärçvaà prayayau

kåñëä-tére manohare

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said; iti—thus; çrutvä—hearing; vacaù—the words; tasyä—of Her; lalitä—Lalitä; bhaya—with fear; vihvalä—overcome; çré-kåñëa-pärçvam—to Lord Kåñëa's side; prayayau—went; kåñëä-tére—on the Yamunä's shore; manohare—beautiful.

Çré Närada said: Terrified by hearing these words, Lalitä went to Kåñëa by the Yamunä's beautiful shore.

mädhavé-jäla-samyukte

madhura-dhvani-saìkule

kadamba-müle rahasi

präha caikäkinaà harim

mädhavé—of madhavi vines; jäla—with a network; samyukte—endowed; madhura-dhvani-saìkule—filled with sweet sounds; kadamba-müle—at the root of a kadamba tree; rahasi—in a secluded place; präha—said; ca—and; ekäkinam—all alone; harim—to Kåñëa.

Finding Kåñëa all alone under a kadamba tree in a solitary place laced with a network of flowering mädhavé vines and filled with sweet sounds, Lalitä spoke.

yasmin dine ca te rüpaà

rädhayä dåñöam adbhutam

tad-dinät stambhatäà präptä

putrikeva na väkti kim

çré-lalitä uväca—Çré Lalitä said; yasmin—in which; dine—day; ca—and; te—of You; rüpam—the form; rädhayä—by Rädhä; dåñöam—seen; adbhutam—wonderful; tad-dinät—from that day; stambhatäm—the state of being stunned; präptä—attained; putrikä—a puppet; iva—like; na—not; väkti—speaks; kim—why?

Çré Lalitä said: Since the day She first saw Your wonderful form, Rädhä has been stunned. She is like a motionless puppet. She does not even speak.

Texts 26 and 27

alaìkäras tv arcir iva

vastraà bharja-rajo yathä

sugandhiù kaöuvad yasya

mandiraà nirjanaà vanam

puñpaà bäëaà candra-bimbaà

viña-kandam avehi bhoù

tasyai sandarçanaà dehi

rädhayai duùkha-näçanam

alaìkäraù—an ornament; tv—indeed; arciù—the sun; iva—like; vastram—garments; bharja-rajaù—sparks; yathä—as; sugandhiù—fragrance; kaöuvat—as if bitter; yasya—of whom; mandiram—the placae; nirjanam—solitary; vanam—wilderness; puñpam—flower; bäëam—arrow; candra-bimbam—the circle of the moon; viña-kandam—a pot of poison; avehi—know; bhoù—O; tasyai—to Her; sandarçanam—sight; dehi—please give; rädhayai—to Rädhä; duùkha—of sufferings; näçanam—destruction.

Please know that Her ornaments have become for Her like dazzling suns, Her clothing like a shower of sparks, Her perfumes bitter, Her palace a solitary wilderness, Her flowers sharp arrows, and the moon a pot of poison. O, please give to Rädhä the sight of You, a sight that will destroy Her sufferings.

Text 28

te säkñiëaù kià viditaà na bhü-tale

såjasy alaà päsi harasy atho jagat

yadä samäno 'si janeñu sarvatas

tathäpi bhaktän bhajase pareçvara

te—of You; säkñiëaù—witness; kim—whether?; viditam—known; na—not; bhü-tale—on the surface of the earth; såjasi—You create; alam—greatly; päsi—You maintain; harasi—You remove; athaù—then; jagat—the universe; yadä—when; samänaù—equal; asi—You are; janeñu—to the people; sarvataù—in all respects; tathäpi—still; bhaktän—the devotees; bhajase—You worship; pareçvara—O Supreme Lord.

You see everything. In this world what do You not know? You create, protect, and destroy the universe. O Supreme Lord. although You are equal to all, You worship Your devotees.

iti çrutvä hariù säkñäl

lalitaà lalitä-vacaù

uväca bhagavän devo

megha-gambhérayä girä

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said; iti—thus; çrutvä—hearing; hariù—Kåñëa; säkñäl—directly; lalitam—garceful; lalitä—of Lalitä; vacaù—teh words; uväca—said; bhagavän—the Lord; devaù—the Lord; megha—of clouds; gambhérayä—deep; girä—with words.

Çré Närada said: Hearing Lalitä's graceful words, Kåñëa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, spoke with words deep as thunder.

çré-bhagavän uväca

sarvaà hi bhävaà manasaù parasparaà

na hy ekato bhämini jäyate tataù

premaiva kartavyam ato mayi svataù

premëä samänaà bhuvi nästi kiïcit

çré-bhagavän uväca—the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; sarvam—all; hi—indeed; bhävam—love; manasaù—of theheart; parasparam—mutual; na—not; hi—indeed; ekataù—from one; bhämini—O noble lady; jäyate—is born; tataù—therefore; prema—love; eva—indeed; kartavyam—should be done; ataù—then; mayi—in Me; svataù—personally; premëä—with love; samänam—equality; bhuvi—in the world; na—not; asti—is; kiïcit—at all.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: We both feel this love in Our hearts. O noble girl, it is not that only one of Us feels it. She should love Me. In this world there is nothing equal to the love She bears for Me.

Text 31

yathä hi bhäëòéravane manoratho

babhüva tasyä hi tathä bhaviñyati

ahaitukaà prema ca sadbhir äçritaà

tac cäpi santaù kila nirguëaà viduù

yathä—as; hi—indeed; bhäëòéravane—in Bhandiravana; manorathaù—the desire; babhüva—was; tasya—of Her; hi—indeed; tathä—so; bhaviñyati—will be; ahaitukam—causeless; prema—love; ca—and; sadbhiù—by the saintly devotees; äçritam—sheltered; tac—that; ca—and; api—also; santaù—the devotees; kila—indeed; nirguëam—beyond the modes of nature; viduù—know.

The desire She felt in Bhäëòéravana forest will be fulfilled. Saintly devotees take shelter of pure unalloyed love for Me. Saintly devotees know that love for Me is beyond the touch of the matter.

Text 32

ye rädhikäyäà mayi keçave manäg

bhedaà na paçyanti hi dugdha-çauklavat

ta eva me brahma-padaà prayänti tad

ahaituka-sphurjita-bhakti-lakñaëäù

ye—they who; rädhikäyäm—in Rädhä; mayi—in M; keçave—Kåñëa; manäg—at all; bhedam—difference; na—not; paçyanti—see; hi—indeed; dugdha—milk; çaukla—white; vat—like; te—they; eva—indeed; me—My; brahma-padam—spiritual abode; prayänti—go; tat—that; ahaituka-sphurjita-bhakti-lakñaëaù—pure unalloyed devotees.

Pure devotees who see no difference between Çré Rädhä and Myself, Lord Kåñëa, attain My spiritual abode, which is pure as the whitest milk.

Text 33

ye rädhikäyäà mayi keçave harau

kurvanti bhedaà ku-dhiyo janä bhuvi

te käla-sütraà prapatanti duùkhitä

rambhoru yävat kila candra-bhäskarau

ye—who; rädhikäyäm—in Çré Rädhä; mayi—in Me; keçave—Lord Kåñëa; harau—Lord Hari; kurvanti—do; bhedam—difference; ku-dhiyaù—fools; janäù—persons; bhuvi—in the world; te—they; käla—of time; sutram—the rope; prapatanti—fall; duùkhitä—miserable; rambhoru—O girl whose thighs are like banana trees; yävat—as; kila—indeed; candra—the moon; bhäskarau—and the shining sun.

Fools who see a difference between Çré Rädhä and Myself, Lord Kåñëa, fall onto the string of time. O girl with thighs like banana trees, they are tortured for as long the sun and moon exist.

natvä taà lalitä sakhé

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said; ittham—thus; çrutvä—hearing; vacaù—words; kåtsnam—all; natvä—bowing down; tam—to Him; lalitä—Lalitä; sakhé—friend; rädhäm—to Rädhä; sametya—going; rahasi—in a secluded place; präha—said; prahasita—smiling; änanä—face.

Çré Närada said: After hearing all these words, and after bowing before the Lord, Lalitä-sakhé, her face full of smiles, approached Rädhä in a solitary place and spoke to Her.

tvam icchasi yathä� kåñëaà

tathä tvaà madhusüdanaù

yuvayor bheda-rahitaà

tejas tv aikaà dvidhä janaiù

çré-lalitä uväca—Çré Lalitä said; tvam—You; icchasi—desire; yathä_—ass; kåñëam—Kåñëa; tathä—so; tvam—You; madhusüdanaù—Kåñëa; yuvayoù—of You both; bheda-rahitam—without difference; tejaù—power; tv—indeed; aikam—one; dvidhä—in two; janaiù—by the people.

Çré Lalitä said: As You desire Kåñëa, so Kåñëa desires You. There is no difference between You. You are one. Only fools think You are two.

tathäpi devi kåñëäya

karma niñkäraëaà kuru

yena te väïchitaà bhüyäd

bhaktyä paramayä sati

O goddess, You should serve Kåñëa without any other desire. O saintly one, by serving Him with great devotion, Your desire will be fulfilled.

çré-närada uväca

iti çrutvä sakhé-väkyaà

rädhä räseçvaré nåpa

candränanäà präha sakhéà

sarva-dharma-vidäà varäm

çré-näradaù uväca—Çré Närada said: ; iti—thus; çrutvä—hearing; sakhé-väkyam—the words of Her friend; rädhä—Rädhä; räseçvaré—the goddess of the räsa dance; nåpa—O king; candränanäm—to Candränanä; präha—said; sakhém—friend; sarva-dharma-vidäm—of they who know all the principles of religion; varäm—the best.

Çré Närada said: O king, after hearing Her friend's words, Çré Rädhä, the goddess of the räsa dance, spoke to Her friend Candränanä, the best of the knowers of religion.

çré-rädhoväca

çré-kåñëasya prasannärthaà

paraà saubhägya-vardhanam

mahä-puëyaà väïchita-daà

püjanaà vada kasyacit

çré-rädhä uväca—Çré Rädhä said; çré-kåñëasya—to Çré Kåñëa; prasanna-making happy; artham—for the purpose; param—great; saubhägya—good fortune; vardhanam—increase; mahä-puëyam—great piety; väïchita—desire; dam—fulfilling; püjanam—worship; vada—please tell; kasyacit—of someone.

Çré Rädhä said: Please tell Me what kind of worship I should perform to please Çré Kåñëa, worship that will bring auspiciousness, piety, and the fulfillment of My desire.

tvayä bhadre dharma-çästraà

gargäcärya-mukhäc chrutam

tasmäd vrataà püjanaà vä

brühi mahyaà mahä-mate

tvayä—by you; bhadre—O beautiful one; dharma-çästram—the scriptures of religion; gargäcärya-mukhät—from the mouth of Garga Muni; çrutam—heard; tasmät—from that; vratam—vow; püjanam—worship; vä—or; brühi—tell; mahyam—to Me; mahä-mate—O noble-hearted one.

O beautiful one, You heard the religious scriptures from Garga Muni's own mouth. O noble-hearted one, please tell Me what vow or what worship I should perform.
