çré-garga uväca
çrutvä tadä çaunaka bhakti-yuktaù
çré-maithilo jïäna-bhåtaà variñöhaù
natvä punaù präha munià mahantaà
devarñi-väryaà hari-bhakti-niñöhaù
çré-gargaù uväca - Çré Garga Muni said; çrutvä - heariìg; tadä - then; çaunaka - O Çaunaka; bhakti-yuktaù - full of devotion; çré-maithilo - the King of Mithilä; jïäna-bhåtäà - of the wise; variñöhaù - the best; natvä - bowiìg doen; punaù - again; präha - said; munià - to the sage; mahantaà - great; devarñi-väryaà - the best of the divine sages; hari - to Lord Hari; bhakti - devotional service; niñöhaù - faith.
Çré Garga Muni said: O Çaunaka, when Bahuläçva, the king of Mithilä, who was filled witù faith and devotion to Lord Hari and who was the best of the wise, heard this, he again bowed down and spoke to the great sage Närada, the best of the devarñis.

jano 'pi sat syäd bahunä kim u svit
çré-bahuläçvaù uväca - Çré Bahuläçva said; tvayä - by you; kulaà - the family; kau - bad; viçadé-kåtaà - purified; me - of me; çubhaà - auspicious; harer - of Lord Hari; yad - which; yaçasä - by the fame; amalena - pure; çré-kåñëa - of Çré Kåñëa; bhakta - of the devotees; kñaëa - a moment's; saìgamena - by the contact; jano - a person; api - also; sat - saint; syäd - becomes; bahunä - more; kim u svit - what?
Çré Bahuläçva said: By giving it the narrations of Lord Hari's pure glories you purified my materialistic family and made it auspicious. By a moment's touch with Lord Kåñëa's devotee even an ordinary person will become a saint. What more need I say?

tri-täpa-duùkhät paripähi mäà tvam
çré-rädhayä - with Çré Rädhä; pürëatamas - the Supreme Personality of Godhead; tu - indeed; säkñäd - directly; gatvä - having gone; vraje - to Vraja; kià - what?; caritaà - activities; cakära - did; tad - that; brühi - please tell; me - to me; deva - lord; åçe - O sage; åçi - of the sages; éça - O lord; tri - three; täpa - of the sufferings; duùkhät - from the miseries; paripähi - protect; mäà - me; tvam - you.
What did the Supreme Personality of Godhead do when He came with Çré Rädhä to Vraja? O Lord, O great sage, please tell me. O king of the sages, please save me from the three miseries.

dhanyaà kulaà yan niminä nåpena
çré-kåñëa-bhaktena parat-pareëa
pürëé-kåtaà yatra bhavän prajätaù
çuktau hi muktä-bhavanaà na citram
çré-näradaù uväca - Çré Närada said; dhanyaà - fortunate; kulaà - family; yat - what; niminä nåpena - by King Nimi; çré-kåñëa-bhaktena - a devotee of Çré Kåñëa; parät pareëa - greater than the greatest; pürëé-kåtaà - perfected; yatra - where; bhavän - you; prajätaù - born; çuktau - in an oyster; hi - indeed; muktä - of a pearl; bhavanaà - the birth; na - not; citram - surprising.
Çré Närada said: The family of your birth is fortunate for it was made perfect by King Nimi, who was a very great devotee of Lord Kåñëa. It is not surprising that a pearl is born in an oyster.

atha prabhos tasya pavitra-léläà
su-maìgaläà saàçåëutäà parasya
abhüt satäà yo bhuvi rakñaëärthaà
na kevalaà kaàsa-vadhäya kåñëaù
atha - then; prabhos - of the Lord; tasya - of Him; pavitra - pure; léläà - pastimes; su-maìgaläà - very auspicious; saàçåëutäà - should be heard; parasya - of the Supreme; abhüt - was; satäm - of the devotees; yo - who; bhuvi - the earth; rakñaëärthaà - to protect; na - not; kevalaà - only; kaàsa-vadhäya - to kill Kaàsa; kåñëaù - Kåñëa.
Please hear the purifying pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Lord did not only come to kill Kaàsa. He also came to protect the devotees.

athaiva rädhä våçabhänu-patnyäm
äveçya rüpaà mahasaù paräkhyam
kalindajä-kula-nikuïja-deçe
su-mandire sävatatära räjan
atha - then; eva - indeed; rädhä - Rädhä; våçabhänu-patnyäm - in the wife of Våñabhänu; äveçya - entering; rüpaà - form; mahasaù - of glory; para - transcendental; äkhyam - named; kalindajä - of the Yamunä; kula - shore; nikuïja-deçe - in the forest grove; su-mandire - in a great palace; sä - She; avatatära - descended; räjan - O king.
Then, placing Her glorious transcendental form in (the womb of) King Våñabhänu's wife, Çré Rädhä descended into a great palace in a garden by the Yamunä's shore.

ghanävåte vyomni dinasya madhye
bhadre site näga-tithau ca some
aväkiran deva-gaëäù sphuradbhis
tan-mandire nandanajaiù prasünaiù
ghana - with clouds; ävåte - covered; vyomni - the sky; dinasya - of the day; madhye - in the middle; bhädre - in the month of Bhadra; site - during the bright fortnight; näga-tithau - on the eighth day; ca - also; some - on the day of the moon (Monday); aväkiran - scattered; deva-gaëäù - the demigods; sphuradbhis - with blossoming; tan-mandire - on that palace; nandanajaiù - grown in the Nandana gardens; prasünaiù - flowers.
In the month of Bhädra (August-September), on a Monday that was the eighth day of the bright fortnight of the moon, at midday, when the sky was covered with clouds, (to celebrate Rädhä's descent) the demigods scattered flowers that had blossomed in the Nandana gardens.

rädhävatäreëa tadä babhüvur
nadyo 'malämbhaç ca diçaù praseduù
vavuç ca vätä aravinda-rägaiù
su-çétaläù sundara-manda-yänäù
rädhä - of Çré Rädhä; avatäreëa - by the descent; tadä - then; babhüvur - became; nadyo - the rivers; amala - pure; ambhas - waters; ca - and; diçaù - the directions; praseduù - became happy and auspicious; vavus - blew; ca - also; vätäs - breezes; aravinda - of lotus flowers; rägaiù - with pollen; su-çétaläù - very cool; sundara - beautiful; manda - slowly; yänäù - going.
Because of Rädhä's descent the rivers became very pure and clear, the directions became auspicious and happy, and graceful, gentle, cooling breezes carried the pollen of lotus flowers.

dåöövätha kértir mudam äpa gopé
çubhaà vidhäyäçu dadau dvijebhyo
dvi-lakñam änanda-karaà gaväà ca
sutäà - daughter; çarat - autumn; candra - moons; çata - hundred; abhirämaà - beautiful; dåöövä - seeing; atha - then; kértir - Kérti; mudam - happiness; äpa - attained; gopé - the gopé; çubhaà - auspicious; vidhäya - giving; äçu - at once; dadau - gaving; dvijebhyo - to the brähmaëas; dvi-lakñam - two hundred thousand; änanda - bliss; karaà - donation; gavän - cows; ca - also.
Gazing at her daughter beautiful as hundreds of moons, the gopé Kérti became happy. To bring auspiciousness she gave two hundred thousand cows in charity to please the brähmaëas.
